Response rate - Anonymous link | XM Community
Skip to main content

Good morning everyone,

I find myself in this situation:
The surveys I have, are sent by an external system via anonymous link that adds embedded data to the link.
I wanted to know, given the presence of the embedded data, if the responses are recorded by the platform when the link is opened or is the opening of the link alone not enough to record the response?

My need is to track users who have at least opened the link.

ps.
Within the survey flow, the embedded data are inserted before the questions.

Best,

Carlo

@cmagg

Since it’s an anonymous link the responses will not be in the response in progress if the user just clicks on the link. The user must go past at least one page. Refer this page. The user who goes past first page and doesn’t answer ahead you can partially record them and track your response rate on that.

You wouldn’t be able to track its response rate based on the anonymous link.

Hope it helps!

Depending on what external system you’re using to send the survey links, you may be able to use metrics from that external system, rather than Qualtrics, to track who has opened the link.

@cmagg,

You could add a web service to the beginning of your survey (just after embedded data definition) to record those who started the survey.

@cmagg

Add a new block with 2 questions, one Timer question and another text/graphic question.Place this block at start of survey. Set the timmer to 0.01ms in timing question and write a script in text/graphic question to hide the next button. So that this block will not be displayed to the respondent. This helps in recording the survey response without answering any questions while using anonymous link.

Note: Response will be recorded only if the option to record the incomplete survey response is enabled in survey options » responses.

Let me know if this works for you.
