Hello,

I have a survey with multiple blocks, each of which I am building a scorecard to provide a score for the block.

I also want to score the entire survey, what I did was create scoring categories for each block, then an Overall score that encompasses all blocks, with some weighting included in the score.

The issue is all users are not required to answer all blocks, so if I try to take an average score in my report, the blocks are accurate, but the overall score isn’t getting the full picture (someone may only answer one block so the total points are very low for the overall survey).

Any suggestions on how to develop the overall score as a combination of the block scores, weighted appropriately?

If all scoring questions are single select then one of the way would be to create another scoring category and assign a score of 1 to all options of all questions. This will give you the total questions answered by respondent. Use math operation to calculate the overall average score.

Thank you for the response, unfortunately, they are not all single response, so I believe this gets a little tricky. Is there anything that can be done outside of the survey within reporting to pull this score together?

To develop an overall score that combines block scores weighted appropriately. You can choose to exclude respondents who have not answered a specific block from the overall score calculation or impute missing values if appropriate. For each respondent, calculate the weighted overall score by multiplying the score of each block by its corresponding weight, summing these weighted scores across all blocks, and dividing by the total weight.
