Setting up a tracker survey | XM Community

Hi everyone! I’m in the process of setting up a tracker CSAT survey. The survey will go out every 6 months and we will survey the same people over and over again. The main goal of the CSAT is to be able to track our performance over time. I’m not too fussed about being able to identify individual users but rather to see YoY/6 months trends.

The survey won’t be distributed via Qualtrics but rather via an in-product intercept that will contain a link to Qualtrics survey. What is the best way for me to be able to contrast and compare data from different batches? So, say, I want to report on 2024 data and compare it to 2023, are there any additional steps I need to take before launching the survey? I understand that I can just filter responses by date but was wondering if there is a better and more automated way to deal with tracker survey data.

Additionally, I’m planning to use anonymous link to distribute the survey, would participants be able to fill it out again if I use it? Just wondering if they might get an error message saying they’ve already completed it. If yes, do you have any recommendations as to how to avoid such an error?

There are 2 ways which can be done:-
1. If using email distribution to distribute the survey quarterly or every 6 months you can add a field against each contact with maybe value as the year or simple Q1 , Q2 to differentiate different quarters. Then using that embedded data you can easily filter it out.
2. If using anonymous link then you can add an embedded variable in the survey flow (Eg:- Customer_Type= Quarter1/Quarter2). You can then change the value of embedded data before going live for other quarter.

The anonymous link can be used multiple times by a respondent if the “Prevent Multiple Submission” option in the survey options is disabled.

@ctek1 - another option would be to duplicate the survey and generate a different anonymous link each time given your only looking to do it every 6months. This would allow you to make changes if needed between each wave.
