Is there a way to set up my Qualtrics survey to automatically send follow-up emails to participants for Survey 2 after they complete Survey 1? I understand this may require collecting participant emails, but I am prepared to ensure data collection remains IRB-compliant.
We can create a workflow based on new response event in survey 1 and use XM directory task to distribute survey 2.
Hi Shashi,
I’ve been working on setting up the XM Directory task in my workflow for about six hours, but I keep encountering a "Failed" response. I've reviewed the documentation and applied the recommended steps, but the issue persists. I’ve attached a screenshot for reference. Could you help me troubleshoot this? It's quite urgent.
Thank you for your assistance.
Hi,
Examining the JSON response of your workflow might help to pinpoint the cause of your error :
Tagging a couple of folks who may have input here:
Hmm I agree with Shashi that the XM Directory task will work well here, and agreed with Vincent that looking at the JSON for the failed workflow step is what I would check next for why it is failing. If the JSON doesn't provide much insight, I would start over - build the workflow from scratch and create a new contact list to add to. If it helps, below is a configuration that has worked for me in the past to distribute a second survey immediately after the first one is submitted:
Thank you,
- Allocate a default value for “External Data Reference”.
- Setup up a task based work flow when a response has been recorded to increment the response count in the Contact list in the XM Directory.
- Post that trigger the condition to send out “Survey 2” once the response count is incremented in the XM Directory.
This setup work for both same and different surveys. In case one wants to send out same survey for multiple products at a specified interval of time they can include the validation in the basis of product code to restrict the respondent to take multiple surveys for same product. The initial setup of updating the response count remains same in both the cases
