Side-by-Side question: What is 'Answer 1' and can I remove it?

Hello everyone,
I'm using a few side-by-side questions in my survey, and I'm quite happy with the set-up of them. However, one thing I cannot figure out is the heading 'Answer 1' that I see in two of the columns. It also shows on survey preview. Does this mean survey takers will also see those two headings?
Is it possible to whiten these headings out or to remove them completely, so they do not show?
And what are they actually referring to?
