Hi All,

Question wrt a survey. The survey has different segments based on embedded data field for whether the respondent satisfies a particular criteria or not.
Is there a way to “master checK” the entire live survey and not use the preview button. Just to make sure that the segments appear as required.

Thanks

Hi @mdaruka ,

You can use the “Generate Test Responses” feature available under the survey editor → Tools, to generate the dummy data which can be used whether the segmentation is working as expected (using data validation).

Additionally, depending upon the position of your segmentation logic, it would be difficult to check the segmentation without answering the irrelevant questions as you would need “get pass” the segmentation in the survey flow every time.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Saurabh

@SaurabhPujare_Ugam Thanks for the response.

But I dont want to generate just the responses. I’d like to test the survey segments, to make sure the logic is correctly applied based on the criterion. Is there a way to do that you think?

Hey @mdaruka ,

There is a way, however a bit tricky (& risky!), add a branch logic in survey flow let’s say with condition 1=0 (which will never be satisfied) to hide the irrelevant blocks, where you can simply move the blocks one by one under this condition, by keeping only the relevant blocks outside the said logic, this way only relevant blocks will be shown.

Post which, add a dummy question just after the segmentation logic, which would contain the pipe text of your “segment” embedded variable, through which you can verify if your variable is working without needing to go all the way till the end.

You could also use Personal Links to test out the segments. Create a dummy email list where each record has different Embedded Data for the segments you want to test. Use the links generated to test each segment, then delete the responses before you go live.

@MatthewM That was my last resort since it will take time and extra work. Was hoping something more efficient could be found! Thank you though :)
