Two-way ANCOVA with categorical covariate? | XM Community

Hi,

I am performing a 2x2 ANCOVA in SPSS.

I have ‘reputation’ as continuous dependent variable and ‘crisis response strategies’ (apology vs sympathy) and ‘fandom’ (football fan vs non-football fan) as independent variables. Then I have 3 covariates: age as continuous variable and ‘gender’ (male, female, other) and ‘education level’ (medium, low, high). However, these categorical covariates do not pass this assumption: Assumption #3: Your one or more covariates, also known as control variables, are all continuous variables.

How can I make up for this and perform my analysis?
