In Qualtrics, the default behavior of anonymous links is to capture the user's IP Address and derive location data from it, without gathering any personal information unless explicitly requested within the survey. If you wish to determine the participant's country, the IP address can be used to approximate their geographic location.
To gather more specific location details, you can include a question in your survey asking for the participant's country of residence. For instance, you can utilize the "List of Countries" question available in the Qualtrics Library's Country & US State block, which offers a dropdown menu listing 195 countries.
Should you prefer to avoid collecting IP Address and location data through the anonymous link, you have the option to activate the "Anonymize Responses" feature in the survey settings. This feature ensures that no identifiable information is collected by default.
