We want to send out a survery to a list of university/department contacts. We want the identity of the responding invidiual to be anonymous, but we can tell that it came from certain university, even if they don't type it in.
so in the end we want to be able to see something like "10 responses from University H - with these answers" - but the person never had to type in "University H " and can be assured that their name will never be known to us.
Any suggestions on the best way to achieve this? Thanks!
yixi35 If you are using a contact list, you should be able to add the university as an additional field. Then in your survey flow, you will need to set an embedded data field for the variable that corresponds to your contact field (same exact label and leave the value as from URL or panel, change the option so that it is at text set and will tally the frequencies instead of treating it like open-ended text in analysis). Lastly, set the survey options to anonymize responses - this will allow you to strip out their contact list information but because you created an embedded variable for university in the survey flow you can still see that field in the data.
Cool! Thanks so much for the suggestions! Looks like this is exactly what we want.
We'll try that soon, and may need your help again if we encounter additional problems. :)
