Hi! We're trying to build an Organization Network Analysis survey within the capabilities of Qualtrics' basic survey platform. To do this, we're having survey participants fill in up to 10 email addresses of colleagues they work closely with. Then, we ask questions about the nature of each of the relationships they've listed.
Ideal scenario:
- Ten blank text entry boxes that auto-populate once the user starts typing in the name/email of their connections. We want to auto-populate so that we can ensure the data is accurate so there's minimal cleanup on the back-end.
- Then piping the text of the names into a matrix table where we'd ask questions of the relationship.
Unfortunately there's not an auto-populate feature we can use, but I'm hopeful there's a workaround. We also have to include the email addresses of the thousands of colleagues, so coming from a contact list would be ideal. Ideas:
- Using Authenticator to start the survey. We like that it won't advance the survey if the email address is incorrect, but seems like if we list 10 spots for email, we would be requiring participants to fill in the 10 blanks, when we'd like to leave some optional.
- Use Drill-down to create an employee hierarchy and drill into the connection's role. This would make the survey significantly longer
- Java - We have little experience in Java, so interested in seeing if this is an option.
Hopeful for some insight as to how we can pull off this survey!
Thanks!

Hi, did you ever find a solution for this? Would be very interested.
Thanks!
I am designing an ONA survey on qualtrics right now and I believe the autocomplete text type when using a text entry question does the trick. You would have to get it enabled by whoever your brand administrator is but it should work then.
As for the piping, you will want to use the carryover feature with the entries set to entered entries only so you don't get a range of all fields from the previous question popping into your matrix questions.
