Calculating columns from rows of data - can it be done? | XM Community

Hi there,

My boss has asked me to create a survey that asks users to choose from 4 sets of 3 words per row (5 rows, 4 columns) asking users to rank their choices 1 through 4, 5 rows of ranking sets. Then, at the end of the survey, I need calculation per each of the 4 columns (for example if set one in row 1 is a 4 and then it's a 3 in row 2, and so on through the 5 rows, calculating the COLUMN total) - like a table that calculates top to bottom, not necessarily left to right.

I drew out a ROUGH sketch of what I'm thinking...rank word groups following the (pink) rows, calculate answers using the (green) columns. So, column 1 would be 4+3+4+1+1:!

I'm stumped, is there a way to do this in Qualtrics?!!

Thank you in advance! 🙂
Hi @AJagger! It looks like you were able to reach out to the Support team for this one. They were able to walk you through setting up a Matrix Table with Math Operations and Scoring to accomplish your goal. If anyone else wants to set up something similar, be sure to reach out to the Support team!
