Constructing a multi-component survey and setting up a public report | XM Community

Hello all -

I have an assessment survey which includes two parts - 1 - an 'environmental scan' that is done once pre-intervention and once post per site. 2 - a teacher survey, which also done both pre and post but could be completed by one to ten teachers per site. I originally created one survey to capture both parts. However, when I was setting up the report, I ran into all kinds of difficulties with displaying the data, especially regarding the teacher data, which cannot be easily summed (the question is set up as a loop and merge). I had set up scoring and embedded data to try to get the data to display how I wanted it to in the report, but found that data would disappear ('source missing') when I went back into the report or tried to download it to a pdf. I contacted Qualtrics support about it multiple times, but they were not able to determine why this was happening or offer any solution.

So, not only did I have to set up an extensive scoring and embedded data system to approximate what the report should include, but in the end, the report still was not displaying my data. To provide an example, one of the embedded data formulas involved taking a numeric response from one question and dividing it by another.

I am now considering developing separate surveys for each of the two components of my survey - as well as having each teacher pre/post survey entered into a separate survey. My issues are

-I want to ensure that the respondent fills out both components of the survey, including potentially multiple teacher surveys. I know that I can include a link at the end of the survey to direct respondents to the next step, but is there a way of pulling in data from the first survey into the next?

-I want to set the surveys up so that all components can be matched and combined into one report in Qualtrics, which I can share with our contractors as a public report. They do not have site ids and the site names are entered as text, so I cannot filter by site names.

Does anyone have advice on how I could set up these surveys so that I can match components for a report and/or advice on how best to structure my survey(s) in general? Any advice on scoring, embedded data, formulas, etc. would also be appreciated - or if anyone else has had issues with glitches in data not showing up in reports.

I appreciate any direction.
