How do I set a hidden question based on an embedded data field? | XM Community

Hello, I'm new to using the coding / scripting features of qualtrics but I'm hoping this is fairly straightforward...

I have a question at the beginning of my survey:

Group

Group A

Group B

Group C

The answers to this question then dictate which route you take through the survey.

I would like to hide this question and upload a variable with the contact data that sets this question to A, B or C.

The reason I have done it this way (as opposed to just setting the logic based on an embedded field called Group) is so I can send the preview link for people to test / view by selecting their group.

Hope this makes sense. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I think you need to refigure your programming. You should have always started by using the embedded data group. Then, for testing, you can set the embedded data with branching logic based on how they answer the Group question.
