If I can distribute a survey without publishing it, what are the benefits of publishing it at all?

Basically, what is the difference between publishing and not publishing a survey? Thank you!

Until and unless you won't publish your survey at least once, you won't be getting the survey link or rather it won't be live for respondent
The survey link will show the last published version of the survey, if you make any changes and did not publish it then that changes won't be reflected to respondents.
