Post Survey Analysis - Response Editing "Other" text to create a new hard-coded option
+2Scenario: A survey has been out in the wild and is now closed and being analyzed. It had a multi-choice question with an "other/text-entry" question. A significantly large enough number of respondents added the same value to the other/text-entry that should be graphed along side the hard-coded multi-choice questions. What is the workflow to make this happen? Is this as simple as editing the original survey to add the newly discovered option and then editing those identified responses or is there a better practice?
I would simply create a new variable in excel or SPPS that codes for this. Copy and pase all regular responses, but have an analyst go through and code your "other" responses.
If you're working with any of the dashboards, and you need the answers in Qualtrics, you're going to have to go through a much more involved process. You're going to need to create a new project, and upload all those old responses with the new coding.
