Removing embedded data fields from Contact List? | XM Community
Skip to main content

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to remove deprecated or mistakenly added fields from a contact list. Eg. two fields one 'Advisor' one 'advisor' and only one is the actual field. No harm is done by the extra field - unless someone puts the data in the wrong field or includes the wrong one in a survey.

We don't have XM Directory, just the Survey Platform.

TIA!

I feel you pain, but I dont' think that possible. I once uploaded a list with a very specific column name related to an experiment. The column kept coming up as an option in all the other lists. I deleted the list, cleared my contacts. It's still there.

You can go to the Directory, choose Directory Options and choose Manage ED. You can either merge fields (they will keep the newest value, in case there are values in both) or delete the ED field completely.

MsIreen could you please share a screenshot of where those options are. I can't seem to find them.
Thanks.

Thanks TomG

https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/comment/32988#Comment_32988I thought that might be the case. Fairly new to Qualtrics and it's sometimes surprising the seemingly basic tasks that are challenging/impossible. Though overall it has been a life saver!
