Website Feedback Add Data Via JavaScript / Cookie? | XM Community
Skip to main content

We are adding a Qualtrics survey to a custom website using the Website Feedback. I've read through the docs, and read through several questions here, and still cannot seem to find a solid example on how to pass data from the custom website into the survey / feedback. The one example I've seen suggests setting JavaScript variables on the global "window" object. Does anyone have a concrete example they could share of how the custom website would pass data into the survey (how to provide it on the website side, and how to consume it on the survey side?). Am open to suggestions on best practices (maybe cookies are better than JavaScript?). Thank you for any insight!

I am also searching for something along the lines. If anyone has any info it will be really helpful. Thanks !

Adding my name to the list of users looking for this info. Specifically a parameter in the URL that ideally would get passed to the survey.

Hi there Radam & sv7777 & St3v3n! One of our product managers happened upon this post and provided some insight! They suggested to me that you view this documentation on Embedded Data.
They also said that if there are any points on the website, the software can save them, if you tell it how to get there! For example, on Qualtrics.com, you can return a Javascript expression ("document.title") to understand the name of the page they are on. From there, you can attach the expression to your response using the steps outlined in the support doc above, and be able to split out your data and satisfaction scores by the page that they are on.
Hope this helps 😁
