SurajK this last one worked!! thanks 😊
TomG Thanks for your help! It looks like it did work but it'd also adding text to the radio buttons. Is there a way to hide these?
Thanks!! However, the new label isn't aligned with statement B. Instead, it looks like it's part of a new empty column. For now I have just included the labels as part of the question text but this is also not an ideal layout
If you want to avoid using javascript: all you have to do is add a timing question in the same page as your essay question. The timing question records: first click, last click, page submit and click count. Then, in survey flow you create an embedded variable that will equal: page submit minus first click. Example: $e{ e://Field/timingTemp1 - e://Field/timingTemp2 } Where Field/timingTemp1 would be the piped in text for "page submit" and Field/timingTemp2 would be the piped in text for first click. This is assuming that they type on the first click. Otherwise, you'd have to set an embedded variable through javascript that records when they first type.
Ahh yes thank you for this! I looked into the links being generated and found that they were not personal links but generic links with a unique ID appended at the end that only function as personal links when: (1) they first pass through our hub and (2) HTTP verification is turned on. Nearly all of our surveys have this set-up. I suppose if we have some respondents going through our hub (with links that should not be re-used) and some that are not, then the only option would be to create 2 separate Qualtrics projects that can then be combined for each survey.
Thank you for solving @TomG!! We were able to get it right now
