I'm suddenly having trouble with several survey questions where I elicit participants' confidence intervals around a previous answer. For example, in Q102 I ask participants to provide me a number. Q103 should autopopulate into its second blank from the previous question's answer Q102 (). Participants should arrive at Q103 with that second blank already filled in with their previous answer. They should then be able to enter a value in the first blank of Q103 and see the range they've created around their guess in Q102 in the third and fourth blanks. This was working well when I previewed the survey in the past, but now the second blank in Q103 is no longer populating and thus the whole question is not working properly. Is there something wrong with the underlying javascript in Q103 or Q104? Or has something else about the platform changed? Copying in the text for Q102 and the javascript for Q103 and Q104 below: Q102: How many questions out of 50 do you think they answered correctly?Q10
I am working with some custom code where I have participants enter a symmetric confidence interval (in Q112) around a value they input in a previous question (in Q111, specifically ${q://QID111/ChoiceNumericEntryValue/1}). I want all of these values that show up in Q112 to have 1 decimal place. Right now, Q111 allows for 1 decimal place, and this is reflected in "QR~QID112~2," but the confidence interval appears rounded to the nearest whole number ("QR~QID112~3" and "QR~QID112~4"). How can I edit the code below such that I get values with the correct decimal place (1 decimal) rather than rounded values ?JS for Q112:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){ document.getElementById("QR~QID112~2").disabled = true; document.getElementById("QR~QID112~3").disabled = true; document.getElementById("QR~QID112~4").disabled = true; var val="${q://QID111/ChoiceNumericEntryValue/1}"; document.getElementById("QR~QID112~2").value = val; setInterval(function(){ var val_1=parseInt(document.getE
I'm running a series of loop/merges where I am randomizing the order and having Qualtrics show only one loop to each respondent. If relevant, I'm looping through links to images. What's the best way to capture which loop (image) is shown to a particular respondent? i.e. which loop they got to see in each loop/merge? Looks like Qualtrics does not record this automatically, but I'll need to know which image each respondent saw. Ideally, I want Qualtrics to populate a variable for each of the loop/merges where the content of the variable is the link the respondent saw. My first thought was to use embedded data and piped text somehow in hidden question, but I haven't been able to figure out how to attach the embedded data within or to each loop/merge so it's capturing the right thing. What's the best way to do this?
Hello! I am trying to embed a single image in a survey question that I want to be randomly selected from a large number of images.I have saved the set of source images in my Graphics library in qualtrics. I think the best way to do this may involve some kind of loop and merge and/or embedded data, but I have tried a large number of things based on other threads and none of them have worked! Any thoughts on how to do this (esp with specific examples of html code) would be greatly appreciated.
Hello! I am trying to figure out a way to elicit respondents' beliefs about both a mean and a variance. So for example, I want to ask them to report both their guess about a mean of the distribution AND a symmetric confidence interval around that mean (i.e. I believe the mean is 30 and I am certain the true value is within +/- 5, so in the range of 25 to 35.) But I want them to be able to report these values visually with a slider. Is there a way to create a slider that essentially displays with 3 points (the respondent chooses a min value, average, and max value) but where there are 2 choices to make, one of which is the centering point (average) and one of which is the symmetric window around that value (the value that determines the size of the symmetric window around the average and therefore the min value and max value). I want to make sure that I can extract both of these choices. The other wrinkle is that I want to constrain the max value to be under a certain number (i.e. no h
