Hello all,I am making a "hot spot" type question where people will have to select one rung of a ladder. I currently have a validation set so they can only move on once they've selected one, and only one run. I was wondering if there is a way to make the selection exclusive (like in multiple answer, multiple choice questions), such that if a participant selects one spot but then decides they want to select a different one, it will automatically deselect the other spot. Thank you!
Hello all,We are assessing the ages of our participant's children. We are trying to find a way so that we can select the child that is the youngest, but only among their children who are ages 4-11 years old. For example, say the person reports 3 children ages 2, 5, and 7. We want pipe the age of the child that is aged 5 into future questions. So far, I have a hidden question where I pipe the response from the questions assessing age into a multiple choice question and then have display logic to only display children who are ages 4-11. I tried to add "less than or equal to" statements but I can't figure out how to get this to only apply if the other child is also 4-11. So for the above example, I don't want qualtrics to include the "less than or equal to statement" comparing the children ages 2 and 5.
I have a drop down question asking individuals to report the age that they did a task with their youngest child. I have a question earlier asking individuals to report the age of their children - also a drop down. The reason why we are using drop down is so we can have a response option be "less than one years old." Is there a way to validate such that the age the person selects is less than the age that they reported for their youngest child earlier? Thanks!
Hello,I am working on a survey where we take an inventory of all the children an individual is currently raising in their household. I used a side-by-side to get each column to be a variable of interest with children listed as the row variable. Attached is a screenshot of the question.I was wondering if you can transpose side-by-side questions - so that the children would be the columns and the characteristic variables would be the rows. Thank you!
Hello all,I am trying to use piped text for a series of questions, but I would like the piped text to me slightly different than the original response options. Ex. original responses are African American/Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latino/a, and White, but I want the piped text to be Black, Asian American, Latino/a, and White instead. I've searched for this question on a couple forums but haven't found a solution. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hello all,I am building a survey where I need a specific validation option that I am having trouble figuring out. We will be asking the number of people their family, and then in the next question we want to use a constant sum question so participants can enter the number of people in their family that fall in to a specific age category. Below I have put a screenshot of what I these questions look like. I want the total for Q230 to have validation such that the total must equal the numeric response provided in Q228. Entering the piped text into the validation does not work.I have found this: https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/2715/constant-sum-must-total-question. I can get this to work but only if there are 7 response options in the table. The JS for the HOLD TOTAL question doesn't seem to be holding any information about the number of response to sum, at least not that I can tell. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue might be? Or have a different solution? Thank you!
