Piped text using recoded variable name

Hello all,
I am trying to use piped text for a series of questions, but I would like the piped text to me slightly different than the original response options. Ex. original responses are African American/Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latino/a, and White, but I want the piped text to be Black, Asian American, Latino/a, and White instead. I've searched for this question on a couple forums but haven't found a solution. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

      You can use the survey flow to reassign the variable names and then pipe in the embedded data field.

      Branch IF African American/Black IS SELECTED
      Embedded Data RaceDisplay = Black
      Branch IF Asian IS SELECTED
      Embedded Data RaceDisplay = Asian American
      Branch IF Hispanic/Latino/a IS SLELCTED
      Embedded Data RaceDisplay = Latino/a
      Branch IF White IS SELECTED
      Embedded Data RaceDisplay = White

      Pipe in value for Embedded Data field RaceDisplay

        Hi,

        Is this the only option? I've run into this situation myself. It's odd that the piped text choice only includes the Recode value and not the variable name. I came across this link which is a request to have this added:
