I'm running into a situation where my Popover clicks are higher than the impressions. A quick search shows that it is similar to this other thread: https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/31/why-would-my-popover-intercept-have-twice-as-many-clicks-as-impressions
According to the link above, the recommendation to correct the click count on page load is to turn it off. But are there any down sides to turning it off?
If you look at the documentation, the recommendation is to leave it on, so this seems like conflicting advice:
"When Prebuild PopOver is selected, the Pop Over is built and hidden as soon as the page is loaded. This way when it’s time to display the Pop Over, everything is pre-built and can slide in smoothly. It’s best to leave this option checked unless your Pop Over contains media that is set to autoplay."
I'm hoping someone can help me better understand which is the better option, to keep it on or turn it off.
Hi tamblinds I did dig a little into this, basically, clicks increment as soon as the page loads, but the Impressions increment only after the PopOver actually appears to your visitors. So if your visitors leave before the PopOver is displayed, the click is counted, but the impression is not.
You can fix this by changing the Options sub-menu of the Creatives section, deselect the Prebuild PopOver option, which will prevent clicks from being incremented as soon as the page loads as below,
But my assumption when we turn this off here is a worst-case scenario where the 'pop over' load time can be slow if the internet connection is poor, test it out before you do that!
