I have a survey of students whereby I ask questions to find out which group they best belong in. Then, each group sees the question wording to determine their major that makes the most sense for those students. Therefore I have five questions capturing basically the same info (major), but each respondent only sees and answers one of them. I want to create an embedded data variable called major that draws on different questions depending on the person. So let's say, for a simple example: Group / Question capturing major 1 / Q2 2 / Q3 3 / Q4 So I can easily set 3 embedded data variables such as major1, major2, major3 that is their answers to Q2, 3, and 4 respectively. But what I want to do is create an embedded data variable called major that is the answer to Q2 if you're in group 1, the answer to Q3 if you are in group 2, etc. That way I can pipe their major into subsequent questions by using that o
Hello, I have a scale for how often something has occurred: A- This has not yet occurred B- Once per academic year C- Once per semester D- Twice per semester E- More than twice per semester I want to have respondents to be randomly assigned to see A through E or E through A to fight any response order bias. I can only figure out, though, how to randomize all options. It would make no sense to have it show up as A C B E D, for example. I need it to stay intact to present as ABCDE or EDCBA. Thanks for any suggestions.
The first question in my survey is a constant sum question where the total automatically calculates and displays at the bottom. Then throughout the survey, I would like to apply the following logics based on the total from that initial constant sum question: (immediately after the constant sum question) Skip a few questions ahead in the survey if the constant sum total = 0 (later throughout the survey, some examples include:) Display a question only if the constant sum total was = 2 or 3 Display a question only if the constant sum total was greater than 3 Display a question only if the constant sum total was greater than 1 However, when I go to set up the skip and display logics, the only options are with the specific items in the constant sum question, not the total. Can someone please help me figure this out? Thank you very much!
