dataccny I realize this was from 2019 but did this work out for you? Any advice or tips? I'm trying to do the same thing now - send out an annual survey from 2020 , showing respondents their answers from 2020 and asking how would they answer this year. I'm totally new to this and trying to figure out what I do, how it appears, etc.For example do I copy the 2020 survey as a new 2021 survey? Or do I reuse the 2020 survey?Do I have to embed data for every single question? I have 262 questions and each question has 2 answer rows! But I would like for respondents to see their past year answers. Also, does it then show as the 2021 answer is already selected? Or does it pipe in the words like "this is what you answered last year"?
Hi there TohS and Kate I'm just following up on this old thread you had to see if you have any further instructions on this topic?I did a survey last year (2020). I want to repeat the survey this year. Fortunately, I only have 8 respondents/panelists. However, I have 262 questions and each question has 2 rows to answer. I am hoping to show the panelists their answers from last year (across all 262 questions x 2 rows/question)Do I create a new survey (copy the 2020 one?) ? Do I then do as @Kate suggested above in 2019 and pull in the 2020 data as embedded data? Does it then literally show up as the 2021 answer is already checked? If yes, would I be smarter to just take my 2020 survey and send it to everyone saying "retake"?
PraDeepKotian_Ugam It works! Thank you so much! You were fantastic help and so kind!CSchmidt see below for the screenshot and let me know if I can pay the help forward to you!
Yes, the variable name I am getting is gid. Qualtrics gave me the embedded data file of {${e://Field/gid} for this variable name and then I used that to pipe into the redirect links as "gid".I did try changing the survey flow to gid={${e://Field/gid} and set this to a number. But that also came back blank.
Thanks for your patience. It didn't work.I'm wondering if my problem is this is not a data entry like an answer choice, this is embedded data that comes into the question field of the first question. Is that ok?Do I need to set value now and say piped text?
I'm capturing the third party panel company ID for each panelist; so it changes for each individual respondent coming into the survey. An example is the ID is: 100580So I set up a hidden field under my first question, at the top of the survey flow to capture this number and pipe it back into each redirect link. I cannot get that number to record in my data fields, though. The Embedded Data column is blank.
PraDeepKotian_Ugam Thank you for your help! I do have the variable type set to be "Number" under Options. So then under "set value now", I just hand typed to = "Number"But the data column still exports blank.
CSchmidt not yet! I'm so far pulling each one by hand. If I learn anything I'll write you!
Hi TomG I used your above advice (October 2020, modify CSS media) for the same kind of problem (survey was way too narrow, all centered with a lot of blank white space on both left and right). Your code advice above solved a huge part of my problem too (thanks!), but while now I have no blank white space to the left of all my matrix tables (I have over 300!), I do have a lot of open blank white space on the right side of the screen. The scale point statements in my columns are text wrapping several lines down. Any additional feedback aside? The idea of needing to manually adjust every column x 300+ questions seems time consuming. Thanks!
