However, if a user selects a value from the dropdown and proceeds to the next question and then revisits the previous question consisting of the dropdown to verify the value which was previously selected then in that case it will show "Select" as a selected value in the dropdown instead of the actual value which was previously selected.Could you please let me know if there is a solution for this scenario as well?
Hey TomG Michael_Cooksey CamM,Your answer works perfectly fine when a question with a dropdown list is loaded for the first time. However, if a user selects one of the options from the dropdown and proceeds to the next question and then revisits the previous question to check on the previously selected value then, that case, it will clear the previously selected value by the user and show "Select" option as the value in the dropdown. Could you please let me know if there is a way to handle this situation as well?

Hey Tom_1842 Ohh my bad. I thought I needed to make that change in Qualtrics JS.I was able to get the question ID and use that ID in the CSS code snippet. However, I was curious to know whether it displays the border in a `red` colour all the time or only when the actual error has happened i.e when the user clicks the next button without entering anything in the text field. Are we targeting the error class on the text field?

I have multiple dropdowns/a drill-down the first dropdown/select shows me a list of options obviously the first option in the first select is blank instead of blank I added some text "Select" like below{ var selects = jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" select");console.log("my selects", selects);selects.eq(0).find("option:eq(0)").text("Select").attr("selected",true);}then in the second dropdown/select which also has a list of values which get enabled after an option is selected from the first select. Users can select any option from this list but here also the first option is blank. Yes, Correct. If the first select has a value "Blank option/Select text" then the second select/dropdown has no values. It will be populated based on the option selected from the first select/dropdown. but I need the first option of that second select to show "Select" text instead of the Blank option when I select some non-blank value in the first select. I know there is a way to create a custom function and then call it inside your JS of your question like ref: customFunc(this) but if I do like that then I will be repeating myself again for N number of times in all those questions.Do you think is there a way to access question ID and perform some actions inside the header.
Hi TomG ,I have similar requirements but instead of a single survey, we have nearly 20 different surveys. So is there a way to apply custom JS code to all the surveys and questions inside them in a single place? I think with the above approach suggested by Anna_Kebets I need to copy past the code at least at 20 different surveys.
