I am writing in response to this question https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/comment/5568#Comment_5568 I have a similar problem that I am trying to deal with. I have a block of 10 problems, each separated by page breaks. Participants should get 3 minutes to complete all 10 problems. After 3 minutes, they should automatically advance to the next block, even if they haven't gotten to all problems. I do NOT want any timer information displayed to the participant, I just want it advance to the next block after 3 minutes. I tried working with the code displayed above, but it seems a lot of this code deals with displaying the timer to the participant. I am having trouble implementing this - either the autoadvance is failing to occur or it occurs immediately after the first question before the 3 min is up. I was wondering if I could get some specific instructions on how to set up this 3 minute block timer without displaying the timer to the participant. I suspect it should be re
Hi, I have three blocks in my survey but only one will be presented to each participant. Therefore I used the randomizer, stating to present only one out of three. However, the estimated response time and the progress bar do not take that into account. The estimated time response shows the time needed to answer all questions (out of all three, not just one block) and the progress bar skips immediately to 66.66% after the introduction (because it takes the two other blocks into account). Is there a way to change this? Thanks a lot!
Hi, I have approached Qualtrics technicians but they said they don't really know so I thought to try here. I need to have 4 groups/blocks in my survey: (first will be some demographic questions and forms etc) 1st block: - 1 manipulated ad - 1 manipulated ad - 1 fake ad - 1 fake ad then set of 4 questions - 1 distraction task and the remaining 3 groups will be exactly the same format (just ads will be different). I want ads to be randomized between those 4 groups but the format needs to stay as above. Now the question is how to create that survey? In one big block, few blocks or...? This is preview link to my survey so you can get a rough idea how it works. https://aruspsych.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/preview/SV_ezguyouPXybWmqN?Q_SurveyVersionID=current&Q_CHL=preview Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks
I am implementing an experiment wherein I have configured embedded randomization (e.g., participants are allocated to condition 1 or 2). Within these conditions, they are then further allocated a particular order of blocks (1A & 1B; 2A & 2B). Within the blocks, there are a number of trials that are also randomized. Within these trials, participants must chose from one of two "gambles". At the end of the experiment, I would like to (1) randomly select one of the trials (doesn't actually need to be "random" since they are presented randomly) (2) check which of the two "gambles" they selected, (3) use a random number generator to decide the "outcome" of the gamble, and (4) present the participant with feedback about this outcome. I know how to do all of this in principle, and am pretty clear about how to use the random number to determine the outcome (#3). I'm not totally clear how to track the trials (since they're randomly presented), nor how to attach actionable information to the tria
