Hello,I haven't found the answer I'm looking for in other posts here so thought I'd try asking myself - I'm trying to grab the count of selections made underneath the column "Active/Contributing Member" in the matrix table pictured below so I can multiply it by a certain value. Trying to do the same for the second column. So if there are three different statements chosen under Active/Contributing Member...., the count should = 3. If 5 are chosen under chair, the count = 5. I need to store these values in two variables so I can access them later in the survey.Unfortunately the piped text menu option "Selected Choices Count" sums selections across rows, not columns. I essentially need the same thing but for columns. Does anybody have any pointers on how I can do this? My guess is I might be able to add a click counter in the matrix table's javascript but not sure how I'd pass the variables to another page on the survey...Appreciate your help.
Hello,I'm stumped as to why some of my javascript fields aren't being exported to PDF ONLY from the Data & Analysis section. The fields are showing up fine in the "Download my PDF" prompt after submitting a response. They are also showing up in the csv/xls export.Does anyone know why this is, or how i can go about troubleshooting? They are single text fields with no validation set, and the javascript is loaded in the AddOnReady function of that specific field.
Hello,I've built a complex evaluation form that calculates the performance of faculty members at our university. We are trying to automate the process by adding integrations with outside platforms. At a higher level, I want to be able to fetch data from each of these platforms, import and parse this data in order to set fields based on who is entering data in the form. We need to be able to add survey flow elements (Web Service in this case) between survey blocks while simultaneously allowing the user to go back to the start of the survey. The warning below tells me this will not be possible with Qualtrics. So long story short, we need to retain full functionality of the interface (allowing user to go back to start) while using section blocks (due to loop and merges throughout form) and web services. My guess is we need to look at a different platform that can provide the functionality we need or build a custom application. Can anyone please advise? Thanks,Natalie
Hello,I have a request to set a calculated field using conditional logic and loop merge fields. Here is what I'm trying to accomplish with Javascript, and want to know if it is possible. I need to avoid using embedded data because it prohibits the user from going back in the form. I'm trying to set a field in a survey to a field that is summed from a loop and merge section, if another condition is met within that loop and merge.A conceptual look at what i'm trying to do, I have not tried to figure out what it would look like in javascript yet:--------Total direct costs = 0;For (int i=0; i < 20 (my max loops); i++)If (getSelectedAnswerValue = "Funded" in that loop merge round) {Total direct costs += field that needs to be summed in loop and mergeSet descriptive field in survey to total direct costs variable--------Can something like this be done? Can I loop through loop and merge data and sum a field based off of a condition that is met within that loop and merge? Something like what p
Hello, I'm working on an evaluation form where the survey calculates a sum from a field within a loop and merge block.First, the user enters the number (n) of items to start the loop and merge block, which will loop for n # of times. Then, the loop and merge happens for that number of times (n). There is a field in that loop and merge block called "direct costs", so if n=5 they are entering the direct costs of 5 items. After the loop and merge ends, I need to be able to show a sum of n, or the total direct costs.I'm not sure if there's a function to sum up loop and merge values, and display them in a descriptive field. If I use a math operation: q://1_QID#/ChoiceTextEntryValue+q://2_QID#/ChoiceTextEntryValue+.....my max of 20 loop and merges, if someone enters 2 for n, the piped text returns an invalid expression due to all of the undefined values being used in that expression. The same goes for embedded data (although I'd like to avoid using embedded data, because it disables the abilit
