Hi, Is it possible to use the IP address while the survey is running? I tried ${e://Field/ipaddress} but this doesn't seem to refer to anything. Thanks, Thomas
Hi, I'm want survey participants to be able to either abandon a survey (without closing the browser) or skip to the end. Looking through previous discussions here the only solution I can find it to add a separate question to each page covering this, and then use skip logic or survey flow to jump to the end. Is there any simpler way? I really just want a fresh survey to be able to be started on the same device by another respondent without finishing off the in-progress survey. (The reason the browser can't be closed is that the tablets in use have been locked down to prevent this.) Thanks for any help! Thomas
Hi, Is it possible to allow the respondent to proceed when an _unselected_ 'Allow Text Entry' category contains text? This is a question that uses Carry Forward Choices with several categories that allow text entry. It uses Default Choices to bring forward the text entered when the respondent selected these categories in an earlier question. (But the categories are not selected by default.) ! We want the respondent to _see_ any text entries, but only select the relevant ones. (And to not have to manually clear the text box to proceed.) Thanks! Thomas
Is there a way to prevent a specific question from being saved (though the respondent answered it)? I'm saving this question's response as embedded data for the duration of the survey, using JavaScript. I'm purposefully not adding this to Survey Flow so that it is discarded. This embedded data is POSTed to a web service before the end of the survey. To keep this response from ending up in the survey data, I'm clearing it using JavaScript. Is there another way? (In this example, the response is the first text field of a form. The first line in the function sets the embedded data, and the second clears the text field before proceeding.) ~~~~ Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnPageSubmit(function() { /*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page is submitted */ Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData('FirstNameEm', jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" input[type=text]").eq(0).val()); var res = jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" input[type=text]").eq(0).val("") }); ~~~~
We have a survey where certain pages have no back button (due to branching). Is there a way to avoid this limitation? Specifically, would adding a table of contents allow the blocks before these points to be reached again? I would experiment, but our installation currently lacks the table of contents feature.
