I am not a fan of scary movies, I blame my dad, he took me to see Alien when it first came out. I think I was in the 3rd grade, is scarred me for LIFE! I saw the facesucker for months every time I closed my eyes.

As many others have stated, horror is generally not my genre. Not recent but first that came to mind from my younger years was Candyman. I have not watch anytime recent to confirm if my memories would remain the same or if was the environment and my age.

I am not a big-time horror movie fan. I'm not sure if the movie that terrified me the most is considered as a horror film. I had nightmares for months after seeing JAWS in the 4th grade! When they played the cinematic music as he was coming with his fin above water, it always ended badly for someone!

I challenged myself (because watching movies is so hard) to watch a horror movie each night in October. My favorite movie so far has been Ready or Not, with a close runner up being Society. The former is pretty fun, with some over-the-top kills and plot. The latter...well...the latter is just plain weird!

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50823#Comment_50823This was such a good show! I watched it a few years back and Michael is such a well written character. He is so well pre-planned to beat almost every unprecedented events they face.

So many great books, tv shows, and movies mentioned so far! Here are a few of my favorites to add to the mix 😀
Haunted and Midnight Mass on Netflix
HellHouse LLC on Amazon Prime

I watched a movie called - "Choose or Die". Nothing flashy or conventional about this film; it's just good ol' fashioned physiological terror that keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. I think the movie is a great new direction for the horror genre.

Big chicken here, so no horror movies! 🐓
We went to Disney's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is more my speed.

Too late to be original in this thread...

The most recently scary show I saw is Stranger Things.
I'm not a fan of horror movies but I felt in love with the ambiance of this series. The mix beetween 80's and paranormal is awesome !

I also notice that my favorite book series ever has already been mentionned :
The Dark Tower by Stephen King...
I have read it almost 5 or 6 times but I still dont know the end 😱

A few pages before the end of the last book, there is an advertising by the author witch says we can stop our reading here !
His point that the journey is more important than the goal reach me inside and I'm still answering myself if I will or not read the epilogue the next time I fall into this epic story...

Did you read the end, JessicaGregory_CHNw ?

Really nice to read all of your comments and recommendations.
I dont really enjoy spooky shows/movies/books. I think that the closest that I can get to a Spooky show would be Scooby Doo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I watched Sabrina on Netflix and I enjoyed it, I recommend the netflix serie, it was entretaining and I did not feel as Scooby on the picture below.👻👻

Well, I'm reading right now Robert W. Chambers' The King in Yellow. For a Lovecraft fan like me — and his horror Universe —, a must-read!

Hey everyone!
If you haven't already watched do give this one a try. Prison Break!! I saw it late I guess...
Definitely a show that kept me hooked up through all its seasons and gave me chills at some point. Its fascinating how smart a human mind can be and how obvious are the flaws in front of us, which only a right observer sees. With my all time fav actor Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) and a stunning performance from everyone. Must watch as some of it is taken from real life Scenarios.

We have little kids, so watching horror movies in 2022 is not much of an option....but we did re-watch Psycho the other night, can't beat Hitchcock...

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50460#Comment_50460This exists in Germany, as well (in some regions) 🇩🇪 and I know in some parts of Belgium, too. And St. Martin's Day is also a good excuse for a nice glass of wine 🍷 The famous Dutch painter from your neck of the woods Pieter Breugel's greatest work has to do with Sint Maarten's Day (I knew those Art History classes would pay off one day!) 🎨

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50485#Comment_50485I'm the same, BruceK -- not super into scary stuff, unless it's somehow "smart" scary, or makes you think 🤔

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50490#Comment_50490I remember the craziness around Blair Witch Project! It's kind of amazing how the mythos of that movie went viral before the days of social media. Everyone was talking about it!

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50499#Comment_50499The Sixth Sense is a classic! And Toni Collette was so good in that. That's a movie I can watch again and again!
