This is a great suggestion! I have never used hidden fields and never really knew what they were for (I’m still kind of a Qualtrics newbie). I will give this a try.Do you have any suggestions about setting it up as you describe? I’ll also give the documentation a read to see if I can figure it out (although sometimes the documentation makes me more confused… 😅)Thank you so much for the advice!!
This is working for me today to create tool tips in a MaxDiff survey: Question textYou would enter your desired tool tip and question text and paste it into the question box. There is a more complicated solution involving CSS and JavaScript, but so far, this seems to be working. I’m caveating this because yesterday it didn’t work, so I’m not sure if there was some change in the back end and Qualtrics is always careful to say that they don’t support custom programming…I hope this helps! Good luck!
Strangely, but happily, method is working today. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!
@brannan_m - were you able to find a solution for this? I am also very interested in being able to do this.
@jmborzick - do you have any similar magic for MaxDiff questions? You used to be able to just add a simple div title or span title to the attribute description field and it worked great. Now Qualtrics seems to be stripping the HTML out of the attribute fields? There’s no JavaScript option on the MaxDiff questions. I tried pasting your CSS into the box in the Look and Feel options and using the CHOICE TEXT HTML in your Google doc in the attribute field, but no joy.Any suggestions? ?
Have you figured out how to do tool tips? This used to work:
text
where “text” is the tooltip text. However, it seems like Qualtrics is now stripping out the HTML in the attribute box. I also tried: label but that doesn’t work either. Help!
So this used to work, but it doesn’t seem to anymore. I tried span title, div title… nothing. Any suggestions?
