My customer's use case: if an alum has their ID from the email they received from us, they enter the ID, it's validated, and the remaining questions are pre-populated with their data from the contact list we loaded. If they do not have their ID (e.g. they got the survey link from a post card we mailed to them (that does not have their ID for security reasons)), then they click "Continue" on the ID question and enter their Last Name in the next question/data entry field, which we then use to authenticate/match to their contact record to populate their info.So far, I've tried adding authentication, which works, but it's only on a single field and it can't be optional. I also tried adding a new block at the beginning of the survey with the ID and Last Name questions, and if they entered an ID set it to the embedded last name from Contacts, otherwise they enter their last name. Then we could always authenticate on last name (whether we set it based on ID or they entered it manually)...b
We sent out our survey back on May 23rd, and at the time, we didn't know how long the survey would be needed. So, the individual survey links were set to expire in 60 days. We already sent one reminder back in June. But now, when I try to send another reminder, I get Error EQD15 because the individual link expired. Is there any way around this? We need to send a final reminder to get every last response we can before the customer wants to close the survey.Maybe somehow create another contact list from the unfinished respondents and send out a new distribution that looks like a reminder?
I've successfully uploaded a large contact list (~115,000 records) multiple times. It works, and I see that there are ~115,000 contacts in my list. I then go back in later, and it only shows that I have 65,000 records in the list. Every record over #65,000 was automatically dropped. And now we've got alums trying to login but can't because their record is one that was dropped. Is this a limitation to my file type (i.e. the old Excel file size limitation of 65,000 rows)? I used a CSV, so I wouldn't think that was it. Or is there something in our account license preventing over 65,000 contacts in a single list? We have other contact lists, so in total, we have over 65,000 contacts. I just don't get why it would successfully complete the upload but then drop half of my contacts (with no notification or error).
Looking for a way to customize the formatting of our Authenticator. Specifically, the width of the labels (1) and the height of the spacing between the fields (2):We're looking to make the labels wider and the space between them greater.
Our use case: We will be sending out personalized links to the majority of respondents; however, many will receive a hard-copy mailer w/ the anonymous link. Ideally they will have their ID and be able to authenticate; however, some may not. In this case, we'd like to have an "I don't have my ID" button, link, something to allow them to skip the authentication and go straight to the survey (with nothing pre-populated). I've been trying to work in some javascript (in our header) to make it so they don't have to put something in the authenticator fields (otherwise it says "Please answer this question.") just to get it to say "unable to login" and skip to the blank survey, but I can't get it to work (and I'd rather have a more streamlined approach).
I added an Authenticator at the beginning of our survey to verify an alum's External Data Reference and Last Name. It's working; however, the Last Name authentication is case-sensitive (i.e. the input must be exactly what is in the embedded data)...which we definitely don't want. I saw a post on the community that said Qualtrics is converting to non-case-sensitive authentication. But that's not what we're seeing. Could we be missing a plugin/feature that enables this? Or is this a setting we can change/override (e.g. can I use custom code to make the user's input and the embedded value lowercase for comparison sake)?
We have a couple of questions where we're confirming a respondent's address info and/or capturing changes. I'd like to use the pre-defined Country dropdown, but I'd like it to be set to whatever their Country is in their record in the Contact List (if we have it). Instead of duplicating a question and adding display logic to display either one depending on whether or not an embedded data field is empty, I'd like to just have javascript dynamically change the question text depending on whether or not the embedded field is empty. I've already proven I can do this by duplicating the question and adding display logic to display either one based on whether or not a person's last name is empty (after setting the embedded data after my authentication piece).
