Hi all,I’m trying to run the n-back working memory task on Qualtrics (using the JavaScript code from an existing academic paper: https://www.tqmp.org/RegularArticles/vol19-2/p136/p136.pdf), but when I try to use it in Qualtrics, I get the following error: “Invalid JavaScript! You cannot save until you fix all errors: Unexpected token )”. Any ideas of what might be wrong (e.g., indentations/spacing issues)? I’d really appreciate the help! Attached is a word document of the code.
Hi all, I’m trying to run something called the n-back working memory test on Qualtrics, and I have the Javascript and HTML code ready (which is from an existing paper), and no error messages appear when I paste the code into Qualtrics, but unfortunately, the page for that question does not load even though the code appears to be working. I would appreciate if someone could take a look at the code attached, as I’m not sure what might be wrong (either with the code or the Qualtrics). Thanks in advance!
Hello all, as in my last discussion post, I am trying to make a video in Qualtrics that has not been loading properly. The video is coded such that it autoplays, is pinned to the top of the page (so that respondents don’t have to scroll down to view it), and can be responded to with the keyboard (e.g., pressing “J” to answer a question about the video). Although this code has worked, when the video loads, it glitches, like so (at the 2 and 7-second marks):This glitching looks a little different with each test, but regardless, it occurs consistently and on all browsers tested (Chrome, Safari, Firefox). Below is the most recently updated JavaScript and HTML code for the first video in the example attached. Since the last forum post, I have tried removing each code (keyboard responding, autoplaying, and pinning the video) one at a time in varying combinations to see if any one function is the problem, but the issue occurred in all combinations. I would really, really appreciate any help a
Hello all, I am trying to make a video in Qualtrics that is pinned to the top of the page (so that respondents don’t have to scroll down to view it) and that can be responded to with the keyboard (e.g., pressing “J” to answer a question about the video). While that code has successfully worked, I have run into a different problem; when the page with the video loads, it sort of glitches for a second as it reconfigures to fit the video size, like so (at the 2 and 7-second marks): The problem might be browser-specific (it is very bad on Chrome, less noticeable on Safari, for instance). Below is the JavaScript and HTML code for the first video in the example attached. Any ideas of what is going wrong and how I can fix it? I need the loading to be normal and smooth. Thanks in advance for the help!:<video autoplay="" class="qmedia" height="400" preload="auto" width="800"><source src="https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/CP/File.php?F=F_56Y5CBojAj0j0YS" type="video/mp4" /><embed align
Hello all,I am trying to pin a video at the top of a page when it loads in my survey so that respondents don’t have to scroll down to see it. I have looked at forum posts that pertain to having question texts at the top of the page, but would that code still apply to my situation? I am also trying to figure out how to get my video to autoplay once the page loads. Below is the HTML code for the video:<video class="qmedia" controls="true" height="600" preload="auto" width="800"><source src="https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/CP/File.php?F=F_dgMA9lWXc5mgg18" type="video/mp4" /><embed align="middle" autoplay="true" bgcolor="white" class="qmedia" controller="true" height="600" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" src="https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/CP/File.php?F=F_dgMA9lWXc5mgg18" type="video/quicktime" width="800" /></video> &nbsp;I assumed that setting autoplay to “true” would do the trick, but it didn’t. Is there something else I need to do?Thank
I am trying to implement a task where participants watch a quick video and then must make one of two keyboard responses to the video. I would like the page to auto-advance once this keyboard response is made. If possible, I would also like to record how long it takes to make a keyboard response following the completion of the video. Is there any Qualtrics feature or code I could use for this?
Hi all, I have a specific way I want to randomize my questions. I would really appreciate the help!I have two separate pools of questions. From pool #1, I want to randomly include 50 of its 116 possible questions to each participant. From pool #2, I want to include all 25 possible questions. All questions from both pools also have display logic (i.e., if the participant answers either two of the four possible answer choices, then a second question follows). I would like to interleave the randomized questions from Pools #1 and #2. Ideally, the original and display logic questions would be on the same page. Is there any way to do this? Thanks!!
