Why is it that truth is so much stranger, and in this case, unnerving, than fiction? I loved that show, but had to watch something upbeat between episodes for balance.

Freddy Krueger was enough for me to stop watching scary movies for a LONG time until about 3 years ago when I started watching almost nothing else. I think I've seen almost all of them now, even the old ones that make you laugh because of the graphics and horrible acting. I've since reverted back to the psychological thrillers and sci-fi genre I've always gravitated to. For now...😈😀

ColbyA They could totally do a spin-off about the son 👀

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50499#Comment_50499The Sixth Sense is a classic! And Toni Collette was so good in that. That's a movie I can watch again and again!

We have little kids, so watching horror movies in 2022 is not much of an option....but we did re-watch Psycho the other night, can't beat Hitchcock...

Hey everyone!
If you haven't already watched do give this one a try. Prison Break!! I saw it late I guess...
Definitely a show that kept me hooked up through all its seasons and gave me chills at some point. Its fascinating how smart a human mind can be and how obvious are the flaws in front of us, which only a right observer sees. With my all time fav actor Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) and a stunning performance from everyone. Must watch as some of it is taken from real life Scenarios.

Well, I'm reading right now Robert W. Chambers' The King in Yellow. For a Lovecraft fan like me — and his horror Universe —, a must-read!

Really nice to read all of your comments and recommendations.
I dont really enjoy spooky shows/movies/books. I think that the closest that I can get to a Spooky show would be Scooby Doo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I watched Sabrina on Netflix and I enjoyed it, I recommend the netflix serie, it was entretaining and I did not feel as Scooby on the picture below.👻👻

Big chicken here, so no horror movies! 🐓
We went to Disney's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, which is more my speed.

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50876#Comment_50876Sometimes weird movies can be scarier than ones designed to scare you! I can think of many examples that fall into this category! 🤯

As many others have stated, horror is generally not my genre. Not recent but first that came to mind from my younger years was Candyman. I have not watch anytime recent to confirm if my memories would remain the same or if was the environment and my age.

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50976#Comment_50976My mom was a teacher and had a "conference" with her teacher collogues where they would watch a movie and then discuss it afterwards.
I was away from school that day and tagged along. I was 10 years old. The movie was Carrie.
I still remember the jump scare when the hand comes out of the grave at the end. Jeez :D

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/51053#Comment_51053Yep! That's it -- young wines are typically released around St. Martin's Day. I could be wrong, but I think it's in Germany and to the east where young wines are brought out at St. Martin's Day. But why wait? Any day of the year could be an excuse for a glass of wine 🍷

My partner and I just finished Netflix's The Watcher. It's a 7 episode series, based on real events, that tells a story of terror and paranoia.
A New York City couple moves from the city seeking safety in the suburbs, only to start receiving mysterious letters from an an unknown party identifying only as "The Watcher."
The show does an excellent job of casting suspicion on all of the characters and is super bindge-worthy!

I'm not a horror movie fan at all but have been roped into watching far more scary movies than I would've liked over the years (peer pressure is real)!
I don't have a favourite but from my experience, things are 25% les scary when you can watch it with a friend and laugh when something "scary" comes up that was actually kind of silly😂

This may be too much of a view into my psyche, but I get more scared of psychological thrillers than I do at horror movies. (Horror movies make me giggle!) Recently, I rewatched the entirety of Stranger Things (all seasons) and the first season was probably the scariest because of the unknown aspects of the Upside Down and what was happening to Will. But now that we know who the monsters are, it's less scary but no less entertaining!
To this day, I remember being most scared during the climactic scene in Silence of the Lambs where Starling is searching in the pitch black West Virginia basement for the killer. So well done.

I'm a big fan of paranormal/ghost shows! 👻 This year I've been especially into Ghost Brothers on Discovery+. There's also a reality show called We Bought a Funeral Home, which chronicles a family renovating their Victorian-era funeral home into a family home. ⚰️

We've been watching Nightmare Before Christmas, Stranger Things 4 and Hocus Pocus 2. : )

I absolutely love dressing up in scary costumes along with my kids and going trick or treating.
Ok I’m a huge fan of going to haunted houses during the month of October. Also I love going to scarewinds in North Carolina. Also around this time of the year, my sisters and I love getting together with our kids and tell ghost stories, weather they are true or false, fake or real, we scare the crap out of

Here in the states, some people get really into decorating their homes for Halloween. Some families even went viral on social media for their Stranger Things decor. Here is a video of this family that went viral for their yard decorations, which included a floating Max

https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/comment/50395#Comment_50395I thought Annihilation was so underrated and overlooked - it is an incredible and visually stunning film! I absolutely love the Alien series and movies like Prometheus! Did you watch the new predator movie Prey? I felt like it was missing a lot of the storyline that the Alien series offers, but it was still fun to watch 😁
