I see this quite a bit...it seems the numbering/recode values are rarely stable. So much that I normally go back and check the recode values for each question after I've programmed a survey. If I copy a question, I've found that the response recode values don't start with '1' on the copied question. I've often thought it would be great if the actual recode value showed on the main programming screen for each response option when a question is created.
@AnthonyR I forgot to include the step of creating a field to denote the market...an important part of being able to merge the final data files. Thanks for adding.
I do quite a few of these. If the data for all of the markets needs to be combined after fieldwork, I normally create one survey with ALL questions, setting up display logic for market-specific questions. Then once the client gives final approval to the final programmed survey, I make copies of the survey for each market, creating quotas specific to each market. Then when fieldwork is complete, combining the data files prior to analysis is simple because they all contain the same variables (some variables will be blank for questions not used in some markets). One note, I do all of my analysis using SPSS...so this may not apply if you do your analysis via the Qualtrics reporting tool. Hope this helps.

SWAG...?! Been programming with Qualtrics for a LOT of years and haven't received ANY swag. (Hopefully my account rep will see this ;-) )
It's also annoying when you create a 'Descriptive Text' question, add the text, and then it CHANGES to a multiple choice question with pre-populated 'Automatic Choice' responses. You then have to change it back to a 'Descriptive Text' question format.
Same here. Seems I get randomly logged out a LOT lately while actively working within Qualtrics. I get a "Session expired" message.
Hi All. I'm Mark from Las Vegas. After 24 years creating and managing corporate market research functions (and using Qualtrics in my last two roles), I made the leap to step out on my own. My consulting company utilizes a huge network of highly experienced market research colleagues and we have been very busy providing market research services for a number of different industries. We use Qualtrics for all of our studies and I'm our primary programmer along with managing all of our data work. I'm hoping to attend the Summit for the first time in March so can hopefully meet many of you then in person.
