I believe you can use in-page setting for the follow-up question for your requirement but I am not sure if system will treat that as one question. Will need to try that out. I will try to create one example if I get a chance today and will let you know how that works.
Hi exploring You can program you timer logic in the survey flow and keep that out side the block of 1000 question. My other comment ""If you have a requirement to further funnel this down to select randomly X questions from a pool of Y questions - you can further break this block into multiple blocks and use the same setting to present the required number of questions" was meant in case you have 50 questionnaires where you want to ensure that you get one question from each questionnaire then in that case you will need to create multiple blocks and randomly ask 1 question from each block.

Hi algroom_heart In order for you to give access to only Cross tab and Stats IQ - you will have to provide permissions as per my snapshot. The idea behind is that you'll have to give view survey results access to the user for reading data in Stats IQ and crosstab modules.

When you go to the Data & Analysis tab - all responses that you see under the "Response in Progress" are the ones who have left the survey window.You can make decision basis on the percentage of survey completed and in addition to that you can also set the setting of your survey to auto delete responses who have not returned in the defined interval to complete the survey.You can update the setting under "Survey Options" --> "Partial Completion" section.
I tried replicating your above code that adds text to "before" and "after" of the text boxes in the first question. Similar to your case i also created additional text entry questions on the same page. Other than this there is no other JQuery on my page.I have added your code in the onReady function and that works fine even when you come back to this page.Please confirm that you have added this JQuery code in the onReady block only.Can you also share the other JS code that you have added on this page to further debug the issue if the above doesn't resolves your problem?
A easy solution to your request would be to make a change to the "Look and Feel" of your survey. Click Look and Feel --> Layout --> select classic theme.The result is that it transitions your survey layout from a HTML control to a button control type which is the request. The only trade-off is that you'll not get the text above 1 and 10 directly but that's achievable too with the help of JQuery and CSS.In case you want to keep it simple and straight - the change in theme should do the needful and how you design your questions.Example attached.
A quick help guide would be to create the needed question type/HTML control and read the view source of the page to identify the control tag name.
Not sure if you have considered creating embedded data variables in the survey flow where you write logical conditions for each rank and set embedded data variable with your dynamic label.You can repurpose the same variables as you flow down in the survey flow by updating the label based on previous label text. In case you're doing a multi-language project - i would suggest you to create a variable that contains all the possible text in the metadata and pipe-in text in the embedded data variable using the similar logical conditions stated above.
This kind of a setup should be doable in Qualtrics provided you'll have to use quite a degree of CSS and JQeury to position the drop boxes on the specific area of the image. Additionally this would be desktop compliant only, incase you're looking for a device agnostic setup than i would prefer building one from scratch w/o using pick, drop and rank.Alternative would be to use the heat map setup where you show a heat map question for each name one at a time. Heat map question will give you flexibility to define your areas which in your case are the tables on the floor plan.
