I have a longitudinal survey and about 400 people took it for the first time and gave their email. Now it is time for them to take the survey again. However, I want the second time respondents to answer further questions. I thought I would have access to the email address in the survey for repeat respondents but haven't found a way to make it work. Basically I want logic of the type "If email is not blank, then show this block of questions". What is the simplest way to achieve this? I also want to send out the original anonymous link to other people who would take the survey for the first time. Am I forced to send a different survey to the repeat respondents or is the above doable? Thank you, Christoph
I am using a slider for whole values from 0 - 3 but don't know how to make sure that the choice of '0' (the starting point) is an actual choice and not just the user skipping the question. I 'solved' it by making the slider go from -1 to 3 and forcing a response. Not ideal. I then want to use Math Operations (or javascript if needed) to calculate simple sums from the answers. However, regardless of what I try, I am unable to extract the numbers 0 - 3 from the user's answers. This doesn't work: ```D = $e{ (q://QID13/SelectedAnswerRecode/1 + q://QID13/SelectedAnswerRecode/2 + q://QID13/SelectedAnswerRecode/4 + q://QID16/SelectedAnswerRecode/1 + q://QID16/SelectedAnswerRecode/2 + q://QID16/SelectedAnswerRecode/3 + q://QID16/SelectedAnswerRecode/4 + q://QID15/SelectedAnswerRecode/1 + q://QID15/SelectedAnswerRecode/2 + q://QID15/SelectedAnswerRecode/4 + q://QID15/SelectedAnswerRecode/5 + q://QID12/SelectedAnswerRecode/3 + q://QID12/SelectedAnswerRecode/4 + q://QID12/SelectedAnswerRecode/
I wanted to score the SF-36, a popular general physical and mental health questionnaire and share the results with the client. I needed to solve two main issues: How to do the scoring and how to do the workflow so that there would be the least amount of disruption and a user would receive a pdf with all 10 scores listed (8 primary and 2 summary scores). The scoring was done by javascript as I couldn"t see how Math alone could do the job. The scoring feature didn"t work as it only shares one score in the end, even though you can calculate at least the 8 primary scales (I didn"t check whether the 2 summary scores could be done). The latter was achieved by using a timing question, in a block of its own at the end, which runs the javascript on load and moves to the next question after 1 second with the text "Calculating scores ...". In the next block was a text paragraph giving the scores and by clicking on "next", the user received a pdf with the scores at the end. Here is the javascr
After help from Shahi I got to the following code: ! This code concatenates the numerical answers, i.e. the choice may be "A lot", "Some" and "None" and I get '1', '2' or '3', depending on the choice of the user. However, if they choose the first (1) and third (3) option for the first two questions, the sum is not 4, but 13. Could you help? If this goes beyond community support, I would be happy to pay for somebody to help me.
I am trying to implement http://mgto.org/quick-qualtrics-tricks-3-scale-results-calculation/ for the SF-36 (a standard physical and mental health questionnaire). I get an error when I add the javascript setting a variable to an answer from a survey question. This leads to an error message on saving of the javascript of "Invalid JavaScript! You cannot save until you fix all errors: Unexpected token { Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function() { var pf1 = ${q://QID13/ChoiceDescription/1}; }); Could anybody advise?
