@sushant_ln1711 hm, okay, well definitely revert it back if that didn’t help! A few other ideas / questions:It looks like your original data is just in the “number” format - like what Excel shows if you change a date to a number (i.e., the number of days since 1/0/1900). If you download the data to Excel and then highlight that column and change the cell format to custom date formatting, is it correct? I don’t know if this support post would be relevant for your situation? Are you setting your embedded data via JavaScript, or just in the survey flow? And similarly, what format are you trying to put your embedded data in, when you’re setting it? It looks like acceptable formats are:
Is that column from a survey question or an embedded data field? If it’s embedded data, try clicking on “Options” and then changing the variable type to “Date”?
Would something like this work?Put all 50 items as individual response options in a multiple choice question. Use the “edit multiple” feature to copy / paste all of the items into the question in bulk. Put the question on its own page. Hide the question from respondents using Javascript, so that the question not display. Make sure you DO NOT make the question required, or it’ll get glitch-y. You can get the piped text for the number each respondent entered in a constant sum question by following this click path: This will give you something like ${q://QID56/ChoiceNumericEntryValue/1} where QID56 is the QID for the constant sum question I want to reference. And the 1 at the end relates to which response option you’re interested in (in my example, Activity A was 1, and Activity B would be 2, etc.)
You can only have one conjoint block per survey when you use Qualtrics’ Conjoint survey type (same with the Max Diff) - as you’ve noticed. Could a possible workaround for your situation be adding another level to your 3rd attribute that is something like “None” or “N/A”?
@AbeB Unfortunately, yes. 😔 With the built-in MaxDiff project type, I have tried a few ways of getting at that info (adding embedded data to the Survey Flow, with Javascript in the survey header, with JS in a question that displays after the MaxDiff block, …) but haven’t had any luck getting it to tell me what people actually selected in that MaxDiff block yet. If anyone else has found a good solution, I’d love to learn!
That’s a good point, @chackbusch ! That’d be a good way to check for multiple languages. If the original language question is set up as a “select all” style, then you could also add embedded data in the survey flow to get the count of items selected. That’d be ${q://QID55/SelectedChoicesCount} (again, updating the QID55 to whatever your QID is). Then you’d treat that as a number and be able to branch if that count is > 1
Try setting embedded data in your survey flow for the selected choice (from your dropdown question about their language), then branching if that embedded data field is empty or not empty. The embedded data would be something like ${q://QID55/ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoices} where QID55 is replaced with the ID for your dropdown question.
@AbeB I totally agree with you there. Unfortunately, it looks like it’s still not quite possible in Qualtrics if you’re using the built-in functionality (source).

je_desrochers Sorry for the delay. Thanks for sending the screenshots! That is super weird. It looks like the data source for B_O1 and B_02 are both the "Regions." That doesn't seem right; I don't know why you'd have a duplicated data source...At the very top of your report tab, can you create a new custom page, add a visualization to that, and look for a different data source for the B_01 variable (one that is NOT labeled "Regions")?

First, I would make sure that both questions are set up as heat maps. Hot spot questions look and behave very similarly, but hot spots don't have the same visual option in the report.I'm sure you tried clicking the button to "Add visualization" in your Results tab. Does that add the heat map visual back in? Can you send a screenshot of what you're seeing in your Results tab? (you can blur or crop out the actual data part if you want to - I'm mostly interested in seeing the right hand pane that appears when you have the heat map question / data table selected)
Hmm. How about a workaround instead - could you forego the Javascript altogether and set up a Side by Side matrix style question with dropdown lists in each column? Then you can copy/paste in a list of the months and years you want in each column. Since you're not including the day column (and therefore won't have impossible cases you'll want to exclude, such as there being 31 days in February), I think you can get by with that solution
It looks like you changed a few more lines in there. You should only change the first part:var yearFirst = 1978; //Min 1900var yearLast = 2049; //Max 2049and leave the rest of the code (everything after //This all remains unchanged ) unchanged. Try reverting the code back to how it originally was, then only change those first lines.
Can you show the JS code you're working with? You should just have to change the one line where it says var yearFirst = 1900; //min is 1900 to var yearFirst = 1978; //min is 1978
You can try asking what region respondents live in first. I'd use a list like this:Midwest (OH, MI, IN, WI, IL, MN, IA, MO, ND, SD, NE, KS)South (DE, MD, VA, WV, KY, NC, SC, TN, GA, FL, AL, MS, AR, LA, TX, OK, DC)West (MT, ID, WY, CO, NM, NV, AZ, UT, CA, OR, WA, AK, HI)Northeast (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA)Then add 4 drill-down questions (for state, county, and zip code), with display logic based on their selected region. The CSVs you upload should only contain the states in that region. That should hopefully make the import(s) small enough to work.
Hmm. Are you trying to call what they typed into the authenticator? Or are you trying to call the information that is saved in that directory field? And you're saying you tried adding an embedded data field called "UniqueID" to your survey flow, but it's not returning any information for participants when you reference ${e://Field/UniqueID} in your survey?
If the data is saved in a contact list - did you add an element in your survey flow to call and save that embedded data from the contact list? Then try adding the piped text from that embedded data fieldIs your UniqueID saved as the ExternalDataReference? I think you typically need to use an email or the ExternalDataReference field for the authenticator to work

Lol sure, I'm not super familiar with Lifecycle (I don't use it myself), but I definitely want to be able to help! Maybe somebody else with more experience will be able to jump in, too. :)I think you have to select a metadata field, correct? It won't work if you leave the metadata field blank? Maybe you can make the metadata field something arbitrary that will change often. Like, today's date or the current time. In that case you'd have to make sure that respondent's contact information is updated daily (which could be cumbersome). They would be able to submit a new response once a day. Not perfect, but it might work. Keep in mind you can't change the metadata field you select. So if you've already selected one, you will probably need to start from scratch to change it (sorry, I know that's very annoying)
Nogstai are you trying to allow survey retakes or multiple responses? You can't do both at the same time in Lifecycle. For multiple responses in Lifecycle - what metadata field did you select when allowing multiple responses? When trying to complete the survey a second time, was your selected metadata field any different from what it was the first time you completed the survey?
yes, that's right! make a separate embedded data field for every constant sum question you have. and just make sure that your embedded data fields come after the block in which the relevant questions appear. if you wanted to be able to analyze the results from that embedded data field directly in Qualtrics (e.g., in the Results tab), then you should also change the "Options" for the embedded data field to something like "Number." More info about the other options on this support site.
I think the total does not show up in the data by default. But you should be able to go into your Survey Flow and add an embedded data field to save the total.
