Add a submit button to guarantee all questions answered

KatjaT Sorry, I didn't know about this scenario. ToC sounds great (for allowing the user to jump around in the survey), but yeah, if you make them required response...if that breaks the ability to use the ToC that seems to be an oversight/bug. Have you checked with support? If you get the, "it's intended functionality" answer, they'll probably suggest you create a Product Idea post. Let me know and I'll upvote it as this sounds like a great way to help with the survey process.

How to compare dates in Qualtrics

It's working without designating Text Set And within the project, the display logic works properly(Adult Pads 1 Exp Date - was a text entry field using date format yyyy/mm/dd). The constant is the date format AND that you compare a embedded data field (name) to an embedded data field (code)

gideunz I feel your pain. I am very frustrated also, but there a few (at least one https://www.qualtrics.com/support/iq-directory/getting-started-iq-directory/migrating-from-contacts-to-xm-directory/ ) support page on the differences between XM Directory (not Lite specifically) and the Contact List Legacy. We have been able to export and import csv files. We have found 7 specific things that we can no longer do - one big one is the inability to export the contacts sorted or in the same order (of contacts and of fields) as used on import. That has caused a ton of issues.On the thread dying...I wonder if during the holidays, admins didn't encounter problems yet? I'm now seeing a weird one with a Contact Trigger (the file is updating the wrong contact list! They have similar names "key requests" vs. "key request PI" it's updating the longer name when we clearly identify the shorter one!)

(1) Survey being Duplicated Multiple Times

Depending on how you have your options set (do you allow multiple submissions?) then if I have an anonymous link, and I click it again, it will have all of my previous submission there. I can change it or just skip through to the end and hit submit. Voila! Duplicates.If you don't allow multiple submissions, if I use the same computer/browser, it would say, "you already completed this survey." So to SPAM you then, I'd have to open the link in a new browser/computer and I would not have the data I used previously.

Looks like this no longer works? Anyone else noticing issues with comparing dates now? I'm going to look into creating a Julian-type value and compare as a number...

Why is some data being omitted from response record?

It looks like you are reviewing the responses in a Report/Results? Is that correct? Open up your Data & Analysis tab and find your responses. See if you can see the 7-10 values. You can also export the data. The point is to find out if anyone has responded with a 7, 8, 9, or 10. If you have the data, but it's not showing on the Report/Result we have narrowed own the issue. If that's the case I'd make sure you don't have any filters set up (to only show 1-6)

Evaluating employees- Looping a block and adding employee name

Question 1: What is the best way to structure your list? By Manager. Since you should have a one to many relationship (many subordinates for each manager). On the loop and merge, on the first loop you want to show the first subordinate's name, on the second the second subordinate's name, and so on. unfortunately, you can't use a variable array within the loop, so you'll need another way to cycle through your list of subordinate's names. I know you want to do loop and merge, but sometimes it's not the best solution. How many subordinates will each manager have? If it's a maximum of say 5 to 7, you could use Survey Flow to set an embedded value to each of the subordinate's names in turn. And open the questions (as a block) multiple times (one block called multiple times in the Flow. And use the embedded data field where ever you want the person's name to show. problem is you won't have this value on the export (it will show the code) - so you'll need to include the embedded da

When you say "a participant may only get one type of questions" do you mean you only want them to get one type? In other words, you want randomized choice between group A questions and group B questions? And whatever type they get, it should all be from the same group?If so, Put all the A questions in a Block, and all the B questions in a different block. then randomize the blocks. On the "50:50 ratio"Are you doing a specific number of responses? If so you can set quotas so you only get 1/2 of one type and 1/2 of the other. On the "Provide an A-type question at least 6 times...out of 15 questions" - If you have each question Q1A and Q1B as a different block, you could use Branch logic to count how many A's they receive by the time they get to Question 9. If they have less than 6 A's up to that point, you could use a variable to force A's for the last 6. But that would taint your answers to those last six A questions.

How can I use loop & merge to have different prompts?

Hi,the questions themselves will be either a video or image for them to watch, so you can make the phrasing for the question in the Video/Image question instead. You can also use display logic on a later question based on if Video Question (Q10 for example) was displayed or not. Let's say you have a random choice to see Q10 (Video) or Q11 (image). You can use display logic on the question to show based on which were displayed.

Have you contacted Support? They should be able to dig into what's going on if it's a Qualtrics issue (sounds like it may be).If it's something you can address - it would be something around your settings: Do you have incomplete responses set to record after a given amount of time? (like a month)? You can check the "progress" and "finished" status on those responses to see if they were actually finished or they were pushed to record after the dateIf the person started the survey multiple times, instead of editing a previous started one...this also may occur with #1 above. You should be able to look at the IP Address for each...are they the same?

YanL Yes, there is a (significant) delay in updating also. Thanks for the workaround for the delay on the second form! I'm definitely going to use that. I'll have to create a template of the question...and a local knowledge base article for my (super) users. NOT ideal, but at least we can make it function. Thanks for that. Perhaps we should suggest they create a new community called Q-Hacks, for workarounds.

ccosart , YanL, All: I am finding that a 30 second delay between the redirect (But we can't do force a delay in a redirect) should work. I currently have the Input message (AND ERROR MESSAGE) read "Please wait 30 seconds and try again by hitting Next" AND also allowing 25 or more attempts at authentication. DEFINITELY NOT what I want, but it's a band-aid on a very deep wound.

YanL Are you the brand admin? I'd have the brand admin make noise...I am. As you say, it breaks processes. I'd list some of the processes and why it breaks them. I just opened a ticket to this effect and they "escalated" it...I expect I may hear the same answer (expected behavior) but I will follow up with my Relationship Manager and explain how it breaks functionality they used to provide. I can't do a redirect with a passed through ResponseID to open the next form and pull down the responses from the first...and on some the user didn't even know they were being shuttled to a second form...So I plan to keep making noise. If it's expected behavior the question is why are they purposefully breaking functionality?

YanL Also, just FYI, I've opened a ticket with support (perhaps you should do the same?) because my business process automations (we would push someone with a redirect link in the End of Survey function in Survey Flow to another form using the Response ID as the external data reference) no longer work due to the delay in updating the contact list.

YanL Not really a workaround, but I have experienced problems due to the slowness LIKE:Person A take survey #1. We update their data in a Contact List based on their answers. We then email them a link to survey #2 which pulls in their responses from survey #1 from the contact list. Like you noted, it used to work fine, it was near-instantaneous. NOW, we have to delay the follow-on email for 1 hour (shortest time you can choose) to give the system time to process the change so we don't get an error.This nearly breaks creating business process automation when you want to push a user from one survey to another, keeping the data available.

PDF exports for ALL responses

We did an export to Excel, cleaned it up a bit with a macro, then did a mail merge with a word document, and printed to PDF. That works...but it was not trivial. Especially since there are a few limits that we ran into. 1. being the number of fields you're allowed to mailmerge. That answer is 255. We had 1,007. So I concatenated fields. And eliminated others. Easily got below the required amount. Also had to do some date formatting so they printed as a date rather than a julian number. I SO want this feature...but with my luck, they'll add it but not to the Core XM.

Deepak Now you're confusing me. I know what I have (XMD Lite). I wasn't asking about that at all. And "what exactly" isn't available? When I manually add a contact, I cannot easily add the embedded data portion of the contact record. It is now a tedious, cumbersome process which is far from intuitive. You said I could go back to Contact List only..."You can contact your AE/CSM to get back to the same previous interface." and I asked, for how long because the documentation says everyone is transitioning (migrating) to XM Directory (lite or full) by Dec 2022. Is that what you were trying to explain?

Deepak ? For how long? I thought the migration was happening to everyone by Dec 2022? I read the article (thanks again for the link), but it doesn't touch on the problems with manual creation of contacts. Especially adding embedded data.

Deepak Thanks for that. Nothing that I saw (I'm the brand Admin) covered changes to the interface. And we weren't migrated until this month. No "action is required" is misleading as there should have been things on my to-do list...like informing all of my users that "Contacts" will no longer be how they find their information. And that the look and feel when you get there is different. And the process for adding contacts manually is different (and IMO, broken).

Hi Rod_Pestell sorry if you did this already, but did you try creating your embedded data [DateTime] in Survey Flow instead of code? I find that importing the reserved date fields directly doesn't normally work (if I'm remembering correctly) but if you push that same data into an embedded data field in Survey Flow and using that, it worked.

Sopwith Totally agree. The new functionality is definitely useful, but doesn't replace the need for an ability to print the full response out, preferably as a PDF Thanks Pritesh_Z, but that's a different issue.

To the issue about using it on the same page, this is what we tell our users:NOTE: If you want to use this code more than once in the same block, you need to change the IDs in both the JS and the HTML. For example, change button id = "button" to button id = "button2" and the div id from infodiv to infodiv2 in both the JS and the HTML.

Workflow - writing to Contact Lists

PraDeepKotian_Ugam Not sure where you mean...the values aren't being imported (received) they're being created from the form. Basically I want to update two different contact lists, it works if I've authenticated to one, but if I have not (I'd like to not have to authenticate to either), it doesn't. Simple example: I collect info on Mom, Dad, and child. If I want to create three different contact lists, no worries. BUT if I want to update the three using a single form, I can't.
