Actions to update contacts not working??

We're using Research Core (Core XM). From my understanding, it should work the same. Hailey P from Qualtrics Support was SUPER helpful in getting my solution set up. I have an action set to update the contact with information recorded after the response is submitted (using first name, last name and email). I called Q support back later and they confirmed my survey is set up correctly and they also confirmed the function to update contacts from an action is currently not working. I believe they have engineers looking at it so I'm hoping it will be fixed soon.

What is the expected action of 'Update recipient from survey response' option?

is there any update on this feature? The contact update action is not working for me either. I know triggers will do this, but I don't want to spend time building something with a feature that's going away soon.

@Rebecca YES! Please share details! And thank you for the suggestion. I'm currently escalating the issue with Qualtrics and Tableau. But my business area is very frustrated that we built them an awesome dashboard that they only go to use for a month before it broke. I will definitely try your suggestion. Someone also mentioned something about using Tableau "bookmarks" to basically copy the visualizations to a new workbook. But I don't know how that works yet. I'm anxious to see how your suggestion works!

The two consistent errors we're seeing in the logs are: The table \\"webdata-direct\\" does not exist. Qualified Name Parse Error --- Invalid input Tableau says it's an issue on Qualtrics' side. But when I call Qualtrics support, they said the issue is on Tableau's side. (That said, Qualtrics support is TERRIBLE now! The people answering the phone are clueless. They're probably effective for basic users, but not for developers. She didn't even understand how WDC works, which makes it difficult for her to support.) Grrrr Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated! I really don't want to rebuild these dashboards; which initially took 60 hours.

Is there a way to build a feed to automatically update a drop down list?

@TomG thanks for the response! Right now, the drop down list is manually updated. Would you mind explaining your response in more detail? I'm a novice, so it would be great if you could dumb it down for me a little. :) Or better yet, do you have an example qsf file you can share? Are you suggesting using a second survey to feed a contact list? I'm not following what the text entry field would be doing.

@Shashi @Mohammedali_Rajapakar_Ugam Thank you for the suggestions. The JS is working to record the answers in embedded data and pipe into a later question. However, the value still doesn't update if the respondent changes their answer. I did include the 'click change' function as well (see below). jQuery("select").on('click', function(){ Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData('Coach_1',jQuery("select:eq(0) :selected").text()); }); jQuery("select").on('change', function(){ Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData('Coach_1',jQuery("select:eq(0) :selected").text()); }); Any ideas on how to force the update in the piped text? I know this will work if using a descriptive text question, but we need the editable boxes so the respondent can manually change any "Other" answers to an actual name. Thoughts?

Export survey as txt file

@SaurabhPujare_Ugam thanks for the suggestion about the JSON editor. That's really helpful. I already knew how to export the .qsf file, but was having trouble getting it to a readable format. Thanks again!

Thanks Patrick! I actually added this code a few days ago and it worked great! The only caveat is sometimes I want the text to wrap into a second line. Is there a way to keep the wrap on, but widen the text area?

Not sure if you can see that picture (it's stripped on my browser). Ideally, the text would be right-aligned and allow for a longer string of text on one line. Word wrapping is fine , if it makes sense. But the current format only allows 2-3 words on each line.

Thanks, but I think I need a little more hand-holding. Could someone help me with specific code I need? I have experience coding sql, but this is different. Also, do this code need to go in the CSS Editor under the Look & Feel menu? Or still in the "edit question JS" box for that specific question?
