Validating student id from a list but recording a different but associated id

@ahmedA - great … but I kind of need a jump start on this … just point me in the right direction, I don’t need all the gory details … is the solution roughly similar to what I posted above?Thx!

Thank you! I wasn’t thinking it would be overly complicated with a call to a server. Can’t we load Qualtrics with a pick list of two columns? This column is student_id, which they enter and it’s validated against this. 2nd hidden column in the pick list is record_id which is then stored in Qualtrics.

Where should I cut-off "effect size" when reporting questions of Statistical Significance?

You need to look at the variables you are studying: let's say you are studying smoking status (smoker vs. non - smoker) and age (20-30 year old, 31-40 year old and 41-50 year old). Then, your smoking variable has 2 groups, and your age variable has 3 groups. The variable with most groups is age. It has 3 groups, so you want to consider the middle column.  Ah … makes sense, thank you. I was thinking along those lines but that really helps! 😀

Where should I cut-off "effect size" when reporting questions of Statistical Significance?

The size of your sample can mess with your result. If you have a ton of data, even small effects might seem super important statistically, but practically don’t. And, if you're working with a small group, even big effects might not that important Think about what you're really after in your research. Do you want to shine a spotlight or a more complete picture. Also you field might have it’s own rules about what's a "big enough" effect size. Do check on those standard. Great, thank you. We have very small data set, so I will cull the results judiciously.

Hi! Did you check out the Qualtrics guide for effect size (right next to the words “effect size” there is a small (i) button you can press on)? There you will get a guide for that particular statistical test for which effect size is considered trivial, low, medium and high. Note that different effect size thresholds apply for different tests. This is a great place to start, especially if all your results are statistically significant. Great suggestion, thank you!However, I don’t know what this means 🙄 … “Rules of thumb for Cramér’s V effect size interpretation (dependent on the number of groups in the variable with the most groups)”

Jeff Davis,Thank you. I read your link first, which then linked me to the Email Task support page that I posted. I’m assuming the answer is yes … but those two pages look like they have everything I need.

How to best capture user id?

Ok, what happened is then Qx deleted the original entry. So the process iscopy the original entry send URL, user edits their response from this copied entry original response is deleted by Qx.So the screen print I captured right away and Qx had not yet deleted the original entry. Hope this makes sense.

@dxconnamnguyen  Nam,I tried this for “Retake Response” but it created a 2nd response … I expected that the first response was just editied. The support link says Retake Response: The edited response replaces the original response.But it didn’t replace the original response, it duplicated then updated the original response. Thx.

Follow up .... but can we use this if we are not using a contact list? We just send the link to our internal email groups but don't create a contact list.If they're on the VPN / network, can't we read their network Id? Everyone else does (Google, NSA, Facebook) etc.Also, how many emails can you included in a List?
