Hi everyone, I'm using piped text to include a link in a "end of survey" message. I have it conceptually set up like this: --[Text to display] <- Hyperlinked to ${e://Field/survey1link} --For the purposes of this test, I set the survey1link = http://www.google.com --Target of the hyperlink is a new window When I test the survey, clicking [Text to display] appears to do absolutely nothing. But if right-click that text and open the link in a new window, www.google.com loads right up. Same experience in Chrome and Internet Explorer. It doesn't appear to be a pop-up blocker issue. I'm new to DirectoryXM but not to Qualtrics. Can you help me figure this out?Situation: People take some quantity of classes over a year, sometimes simultaneously. I want to send them a survey after each one. The survey is the same for each class except for text to the effect of "How was [class name]?"Before upgrading to DirectoryXM I did this by uploading a contact list per class with an embedded data field for class name. With DirectoryXM, uploading a contact list with the same person as had been uploaded previously overwrites the value in "class name." That might be OK in some situations, but causes trouble if people take multiple classes at the same time (I'd upload data for class one then immediately overwrite it with data for class two). The solution seemed to be creating a field for each class then populating that field with some value (like the date they took the class) if a person took that class, then generating a sample using criteria like: If field "Intro 101" equals Septem
There doesn't seem to be a default setting that allows viewers of public reports to filter the results. Does anyone have a clever work-around or suggestion for enabling public filtering? A client wants to filter the results of a public report I made for them by date. They personally don't have a Qualtrics account, and it seems extremely cumbersome to rerun the report anytime they have a request, which is fairly frequently.
I'm stuck. I have survey data structured like thiswhich I've merged into a dashboards measure group comprised of text set variables for speed, reliability, etc.I want to make a chart similar to this But I can't figure out how to set this up in Dashboards. I thought I could define both the "data series" and "x axis" as my measure group but I don't see that as an option. Any recommendations?
If I load data using multi-value text set embedded data, can I compare responses that do/don't have a certain value in Reports? In the example, below, I'd like to make a report visualization that shows that people who are "value3" are less satisfied than people who are not "value3."Response A: FIELD = value1, value2; SATISFACTION = HighResponse B: FIELD = value1, value3; SATISFACTION = LowResponse C: FIELD = value1, value2; SATISFACTION = HighI know I can make Reports visualizations that show responses for everyone who has value1, has value2, etc. but that doesn't compare respondents who are vs. aren't associated with a certain value. I tried using "Create New Field" in the "Data & Analysis" tab but wouldn't let me define logic for presence vs. absence of a value.
Hello, I'd like to build a conceptually simple eligibility check into a survey: _IF respondent enters an account number that is present in pre-defined dataset THEN show this question block ELSE show that question block_ The authenticator seems perfect for this... except that authenticator fails get a failure message and the survey halts. Regardless of authenticator pass/fail, I want the respondent to continue the survey (I'll use their pass/fail status in logic to control what their next questions are). Can the authenticator do this? Or is there a better approach? Thanks for your ideas!
I'm setting up a survey asking respondents to rate satisfaction with event speakers. The name of each event speaker is loaded as embedded data. Respondents rate each respondent in a matrix question. The survey will be deployed with different event speakers over time. Any suggestions for how to set a report that summarizes responses by speaker? Setting the report by segment responses by the embedded data field "speaker name" yields a mess - because the matrix has multiple rows (one per speaker) it displays a bunch of zero responses for each row that has never held that speaker's name and doesn't integrate responses for a single speaker if they were ever entered into different fields (e.g., speaker1, speaker2, etc.). Conceptually, what I want is to define a list of speaker names via embedded data, collect a rating on each speaker, then tie all responses associated with each speaker name to that speaker in a report. But I can't figure out a way to make Qualtrics do this! Any suggestions
Hi everyone, I have a survey where total population counts are more relevant than percentages. I'm going to have nearly 100% of the population in my sample but I'm sure will come up a little short. I would love for Qualtrics' report visualizations to show inferred population counts per response option rather than either a percentage or the response count from the sample. Conceptually, I could achieve this by weighting some variable that applied to all respondents (like finished = true) to whatever greater than 100% weighting would get my sample size to equal my population size. But... Qualtrics won't let you weight to more than 100%. Any suggestions for how to achieve this within the Qualtrics platform? I have StatsIQ but not Dashboards, in case that's relevant. Thanks!
I've collected all my responses and now want to add an embedded data field with a value defined by survey logic (specifically, assign the field a number representing the quantity of questions a respondent answered "true."). I see the "create new field" option in the data tab, but the options in there don't seem to allow what I'm looking to do. If I were using Excel, the function would be COUNTIF(Q1:Q10,"true"). Any suggestions?
I want respondents to enter a list of items of any length and have each of these items captured as its own value. Probably list lengths are 0-10 items. I know I could do this with a form question (one item per form field), or with a single essay style field after exporting data (run a script that identifies each line break as a separate item). But is there a way to accomplish something like that second option within Qualtrics? I was looking for a way to have Qualtrics recognize each line break in a text box as a distinct item but that doesn't seem to be possible. Example below. Hello everyone, I'd like to distribute a survey email invitation in which the text of the email varies based on the embedded data in the contact list. For example, if the contact list variable "interests" had the value of "cats," the email invitation would display a block of text about cats, but if that variable had the value of "dogs," the email invitation would display a block of text about dogs. FWIW, the contact list in question will be created by a contact list trigger from a survey that is basically a data entry form for staff. Any ideas about how to do this? I'm thinking of a pretty clunky and limited solution in which I create an embedded data variable like "text string" that is always displayed in the email and, to continue the cat example, would have a value like "We see you're interested in cats! Check out resources at cats.com." Thanks for the ideas!
Hello everyone, I'm trying to link respondents to a survey via a Qualtrics email distribution AND through an app notification. I want the survey link to be personalized. Regardless of which channel they click through, I want each respondent to be able to take the survey only once. I know how I would do this if I didn't want to run the emails through Qualtrics. But how can I do this while running the emails through Qualtrics? Making an email distribution generates one link, making a "personal link" distribution generates a different link even when done through the same contact list. I thought I could get around this by putting the links generated from the personal link distribution in the emails using piped text and embedded data, but the emails insist on having their own survey link before sending. If I want the emails to go through Qualtrics, how can I make the link I send via the Qualtrics emails match the link I send manually through other channels? Thank you for your ideas!
