I’ve been working on a check in form for large events where desk staff can select a person’s name from a dropdown and submit it to check them in, but if there are subsequent attempts to check that name in, it ends the survey and says they are already checked in.There are hundreds of names, so managing display logic for every name is not feasible. What I am attempting to do is to set the selected name as embedded data (“SelectedGuest”), record that name as the External Data Reference field in a contact list through an XM Directory trigger, then call that field back in through a pre-fill authenticator using that contact list where if it passes (if the name is already on the list), it pulls that External Data Reference field into the survey. Then, I use a branch that says “if embedded data field “SelectedGuest” is equal to the imported embedded data field “External Data Reference”, branch to an end of survey message that says they were already checked in.This works great on the first and
I am trying to think of an efficient way to display previous responses to the questions in a survey when an authenticated user logs in and takes the survey again. I want the displayed responses to build with each survey response.For example, a user authenticates (through SSO related to a contact list) into the survey and answers 5 questions.The next time they log into the survey, they can see the 5 responses they submitted the last time they took the survey, then take the survey again, and record 5 new responses.The next time they log into the survey, they can see the 10 responses they submitted over the last two attempts, then submit 5 new responses again.And so forth.Some other potentially important details - the survey will be a lot more than 5 questions, and not all questions will be answered each time. Qualtrics online support immediately denied me when I asked this question and told me to ask for API/Integration support, but thought maybe I'd try here first.I just want to pass variable names for choice text responses to another service (Power Automate to SharePoint, if it matters) through Web Service, but my only options seem to be the original choice text or recode values. Is there a simple way to get the variable names to pass through web service? Thanks for any suggestions.
I’ve encountered a frustrating issue with XM Directory workflow update triggers. I have a survey which authenticates users via SSO and allows the user to create a unique XM directory entry that can be called back in and updated over time. This has worked fine using LDAP SSO authentication, but all of a sudden it will not recognize the existing records in the XM directory once I switched the authentication to Shibboleth and creates a new record with each new submission, even though it is set to update existing records.Some important details:The survey uses an SSO authenticator associated with an XM Directory using Shibboleth to give that user access to the survey, but there is a second authenticator nested in the survey flow that associates with a different XM Directory, and this is the directory I am associating the survey content with. I'm doing my best to adapt to the many changes with Qualtrics but I find myself scratching my head over the disappearance of some incredibly useful features. One of the biggest issues I've run into is the transition away from Contact Lists to XM Directories. I understand the need to evolve the features, but there are changes that render them so much less useful to me that I find myself considering abandoning this platform altogether and moving on to something new. One of my struggles has been that there is no way to check for duplicate entries in an XMD without exporting it, identifying duplicates in Excel, and then manually removing them from the XMD, which is incredibly tedious considering it was previously done automatically by the contact lists. There is supposedly a feature that can somewhat handle this, but after a supposed month of my org's ITS communicating with Qualtrics about it, the result was "unfortunately, we just don't have access to those features." Wondering if anyone has insight. I noticed today that when using the SSO Authenticator in Survey Flow using LDAP to authenticate any user with credentials in my organization, my Authenticator options do not include the checkbox to allow/disallow multiple responses to the survey from authenticated respondents unless I have the "associate respondent with panel" box checked. I tested the survey and it allows multiple submissions after authentication by default. I don't want to associate the respondent with a panel because I don't have access to every user's info to build that list. The slider button in survey options to prevent multiple submissions is pretty weak. How can I authenticate users and prevent them from completing the survey multiple times? I was thinking I could send their info to an XM Directory and then use logic in the survey flow to kick them if they are present in the XMD, but the survey also needs to be 100% anonymous after the login, and it wouldn't be if I were c
Hello all,I'm working on a project in Qualtrics which is essentially a request form for a variety of different budget requests for our org. The first page of the form is a multi-select question of 7 categories, and the user can select as many categories as they feel relate to their request. Each of the 7 categories has a module built out for it, and some are relatively detailed. For the simpler ones, I summarize them all in a descriptive text question and carry that forward to embedded data (and then on to a contact list trigger, but that part is not important right now). Some of the more complex modules will ask how many items a person is requesting, and each item requested might have 5 or 6 fields of info collected. There might be three modules with that variable number of items requested. So, ultimately, a lot of potential rows of info potentially collected from one submission.One of the most important functions of this process is the email trigger form the submission to the budget
Hello all,I use a template set up by my org for most of my hundreds of forms and surveys, and until recently, I was able to control the appearance of the "Question Separator" in the old "Look & Feel" editor. As of this week, that feature is no longer working in the old editor, and while working on two surveys using the same template today, one now has the separator (despite it being unchecked in the options in the old Look & Feel editor) and the other does not. Qualtrics support was not able to resolve the issue and just suggested that the template must have the option turned on by default. Before I ask my org manager to create a new copy of the template with the separator turned off for me, I thought I'd see if anyone knows a way around using javascript or CSS.
