I'm doing my best to adapt to the many changes with Qualtrics but I find myself scratching my head over the disappearance of some incredibly useful features.
One of the biggest issues I've run into is the transition away from Contact Lists to XM Directories. I understand the need to evolve the features, but there are changes that render them so much less useful to me that I find myself considering abandoning this platform altogether and moving on to something new. One of my struggles has been that there is no way to check for duplicate entries in an XMD without exporting it, identifying duplicates in Excel, and then manually removing them from the XMD, which is incredibly tedious considering it was previously done automatically by the contact lists. There is supposedly a feature that can somewhat handle this, but after a supposed month of my org's ITS communicating with Qualtrics about it, the result was "unfortunately, we just don't have access to those features." Basic features now require some sort of premium account that an org of over 20k people doesn't get with their site license?
Another big issue is that I cannot export an XMD with just the embedded data fields that have been associated with that XMD without manually selecting each one. Once again, this was a one-click feature with contact lists, but with XMD, I have to either hand pick every embedded data field on every export, or I have to export with the 1,000+ embedded data fields I've used across all of Qualtrics for the past 6 years, apparently. I understand how this might be useful in keeping a list with multiple uses/associated with multiple surveys/data fields, but couldn't it at least just have an option to include all embedded data fields that are not blank?
Maybe I'm misusing the platform or misunderstanding the new tools, but these changes have been frustrating, to say the least.
