JavaScript to breakup date of birth for doing an age calculation

Hi Christin 1 - It doesn't matter where you put the embedded data element in your survey flow, unless you want to use the data values in your survey (piped text, logic, etc.). In which case (and as a general best practice), put it at the vey top of your survey flow.2 - Yes, leave the embedded data fields "empty" (i.e., when they say "value will be set from panel or URL"). Otherwise you would be setting the data value to whatever you enter there. For example age = "values from panel or URL" will be filled by the program, but age = 20 will hard set the age to 20.

Well what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to find all instances where any of those words are within 5 words of each other (i.e since and I & since and was & since and little, etc.)You could write those all out as 2 word pairs, but you really aren't going to get anything meaningful from your data.

Cant do it. You may be able to provide the link to the file (photo), that can be downloaded, but you can't show the image.

Randomize embedded data with no repetition

It a bit long to program, but you can do this with the branching logic and randomizer in the survey flow. I'd group all this in a single group block so that it is easy to copy and repeat between each iteration.Basically you need to create an indicator that a value has been selected by the randomizer, then suppress that option if it was previously selected. You can do this by setting an embedded data indicator a block when the choice is selected and then using branching logic to hide that block when the indicator has been set. LOL - Having re-written the above paragraph a dozen times, I realize that this is a lot easier to show then to type. Attached is a simple demo of this where it goes through the process 3 times. It wouldn't be that much work to program it to 20.Demo_-_Randomizing_Embedded_Data_and_Hiding_Once_Shown.qsf

I misunderstood the question. It looks like the OP wanted to add a static number of days and not do a calculation based on the current date.Attached is how to do this with 14 days as the static number.Demo_-_Date_difference_calculation_-_constant_14_days (1).qsf

How can I add number of days to an embedded data field

NeelamS I couldn't think of a clean way to explain this in a forum post, so I just did a survey that explains everything. I am positive there are cleaner ways to do this if you know better programming, but this was the cleanest way I could think of with the least amount of programming knowledge needed. It does use some JavaScript, but very little. Be careful about changing the coding and embedded data names, otherwise this won't work properly.I've included programming notes throughout this to help you understand what is going on, but ultimately you will have to reverse engineer the programming to fit your use-case. Demo_-_Date_difference_calculation (1).qsfAfter posting this I realized that you will need to make a small edit to the math calculation for Day.diff. Use this $e{ abs( e://Field/CD - e://Field/COV.dd ) }. This needs to include the absolute value for the difference in date, otherwise you can get some negative numbers that won't make sense.

I dont' think this is possible, but you could pipe the recipeints in the email itself so that everyone knows who received this email.

Is it possible to display a random block without a page break?

I would set the statement as an embedded data field that gets assigned randomly in the survey flow (via the randomizer). You set the embedded data value equal to the your text, then used piped text in the question. This way you have a single field that shows exactly what text was shown. Makes reporting/analyzing easier.

The survey is pretty vanilla except that it uses a Table of Contents element, which is what I am guessing is causing the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

I would not even focus on scoring for this. Simple show the results (count) of Q1 choices. That will tell you what you need.

Word Count for Multiple Text Entry on the Same Page

@TomgG - I am trying to understand the code (promise) so that I know what variable to reference if I want to set the word count as embedded data. Am I write in interrpretting that there isn't a var set to the actual word count? My guess is that I need to set a var, but I am not sure where. Creating parent topics for a Vocalize dashboard based on Current Page URLs

There is a slew of ways to do this, depending on what is best/easiest with how your stuff is setup. If the survey is going out, and has been for a while, you could do the drilld own like I suggested ealier and recode the field so that www.domain.com/xxxx = xxxx and www.domain.com/yyyy = yyyy. @TomgG Thank you for this. I still can't find the other other question like this. I hate duplicating threads, but I mainly find feature requests for this. Anyway, I am sure this would fix my issue so I'll leave here for the next person who understands it. I've tried tweaking the code with what you provided, but was unable to make it work. Feeling mildly defeated, I decided to just put the 2 text entry questions on seperate pages.

Is it possible to analyse text (using text IQ) across multiple question fields in a survey?

@AdamK12 - You have to do it before the survey goes out, however you can fix your old data that has already been collected by exporting the data, combining all the open-ended feedback into the new field and re-uploading. You will need to delete the old records or else you will have duplicate data.
