I like to think I'm pretty facile with Qualtrics, but I've never been able to set a quota group and feel comfortable about it. I'm programming more and more studies that award incentives to completes and I get nervous each and every time that I'm going to mess up quotas resulting in over-run of incentives. Or I'm unsure if I'm unnecessarily running respondents through a survey in which they will eventually be flagged as overquota.I'd appreciate some guidance if there is a better way to set my quotas so that when I, say, want 400 total responses with 200 residing in one state and the other 200 residing in any other state. My state variable is based on an embedded variable from the original contact list.So I generally set a General Quota at 400. Quota is set to increment when the text description on very final question is displayed. Once quota is hit, I've set rule so that it Prevents All New Survey Sessions.Then I set two additional quotas for in-state and out-of-state.For in-state
In the past, the distribution history would report which individuals were screened out AND which screener exited them from the survey. The distribution history now only shows "Survey Screened Out" and does not display the specific screener. It was helpful to know the screeners so I can respond to questions such as "Can I retake the survey?" and "Why can't I finish the survey?" for those who were screened out. Is there another way to display the screener that screened someone out?As well, it was nice to have this in the distribution history for when I'm summarizing the sample disposition and qualification incidence in a particular study. I know I can get the screener counts in the survey flow but I would prefer to have it appear in the distribution history output.
There was a recent update on the Data & Analytics tab that made it less user friendly with a lot more white space between columns and requiring a lot more left and right scrolling in order to see all items. It was an annoying change but has just resulted in me doing more data exports rather than using browser interface. And now there was recent change in the Email Distribution summary page. I've included a screenshot to show what I'm looking at. Why do they insist having so much white space in the Total Sent to Spam columns? The Date/Time, Recipients, and Subject line can now only be fully seen by hovering over each label or opening up the distribution, and those are the more critical data points when trying to manage a survey with a bunch of mailings.For clarification, I'm using 100% zoom in Firefox. I can see a bit more text if I zoom out, but then the font gets much smaller. Zooming out does not resolve the white space. I've confirmed this is also how it appears in Chrome.Does anyon
Qualtrics only counts a multiple select check box as selected if the box is selected when the page is submitted. However, I would like to be able to count how many respondents selected a multiple select check box even if they then uncheck the box before submitting the page.Context for my request: To allow respondents to refresh their memory about a long description, I use a multiple select check box on the page with in-page display logic to display the description. Respondents can select the box to open the text description and then uncheck the box to again hide the description. My goal here is to be able to determine a count and proportion of respondents who use the reminder checkbox, counting both those who left the box checked when submitting page and those who unchecked the box after reading the text.
After some internal testing, we've discovered that a partial respondent does NOT see any survey edits made after they've begun their survey. It seems that a partial respondent is stuck within whatever version of the survey they were when starting the survey.It makes sense to me that this would be the case for any questions they've already completed, but I was hopeful that questions not yet seen would be updated.One case of this is when we incentivize our respondents. Let's say we're incentivizing completes at $20. The last page of our survey typically says something like "We'll be sending your $20 in a couple days". To encourage more completes in the middle of fielding, we might decide to increase our incentive to $40. So we would update the last page to reflect $40. The reminder message goes out to all partial and non-responsive contacts indicating that we have increased incentives. New respondents will see the $40 on the last page but partial respondents will still see $20.Wha
Hello everyone,I'm trying to improve my stat keeping for fielding performance of my qualtrics samples. I would like to embed a data variable that identifies the sample the respondent had completed their survey from.I frequently subset my contact lists into samples and send out invitations/reminders to those samples. I know that the Distribution page summarizes responses and completes for each sample, but I would like to more finely analyze this through data output. I know that Qualtrics keeps track of sample membership because you can use it as a condition when creating your samples. However, I don't see it as an option under the Survey Metadata.Much appreciated if anyone can help me with this.Best,Terry
I have a contact list has an alternate email address for some contacts in the list. When they have two (or more) addresses, is it possible to send invitations/reminders to both email addresses but treat them as a single contact? I do not want the contacts to be able to complete the survey multiple times. However if the contact completes the survey from either of the addresses, I would like reminders to stop being delivered to both addresses.
In some of our surveys, we ask respondents to rate models that have long descriptions. When these models are referred to in later questions, instead of displaying all of the text again, I thought it would be useful provide hover over text as a reminder if needed. I initially tried the span title/span approach in each of the response choices. However, I then discovered that these hover over text boxes will not work on mobile devices (which make up about 60-75% of our completes). Based on recommendations and other posts here on the same topic, I understand now that the better approach is to use a a Tooltip where computer users can hover and mobile users can "click" the label to display the text. I slightly modified some of the example script available for use on Qualtrics. It works great in the computer version of the survey and I've been able to make visual tweaks for text to appear at top, at bottom, or relative to label. However, I can't seem to make it play nice in the mobile
A few years ago, we had Qualtrics help us with developing some custom code to use suggested string search through the use of a suggestion array. For example, respondents will type three or more characters for, say, intended major in college and then a dropdown will show all mentions from a list that contain that string. Respondents would select from the dropdown and the remaining script would add corresponding data fields to placeholder embedded data variables. The script has worked great except in a new project that I'm working with. It has the same exact javascript code from a project that is working correctly, yet now it fails to display a dropdown in the new project. I have the appropriate embedded data fields in my new project (MajCat, MajCode, MajLabel, MajTerm) and I have confirmed that validation rules are properly referenced (entered response must be equal to ${e://Field/MajLabel}).
