hi @Bruce you have two options here that i can think of. 1) add a text entry question after this one and ensure it displays on the same page as the multiple choice question. this would provide you with generic answers. you can also add some display logic onto the text entry questions so it will only display in page once the multiple choice question has been answered, but you need to select all answer options in the display logic. you can find details on setting up display logic here: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/edit-survey/question-options/display-logic/ 2) when you type in each individual answer to the multiple choice question you can select the little drop down option on the right hand side of the box and the select 'allow text entry'. this can be added to all answer options, but i am not a fan of how it displays to be honest. i suggest option 1 :) thanks, Ben

hi @jdiffee you are on the exact right track here. i actually have my embedded data determine between a couple of different review sights and i have built the particular links into their own individual EOS message as you have mentioned. it works perfectly without a problem as for testing.... all you can do is kick off a mock distribution. you can create these manually in Qualtrics. if it is only 1 x embedded data field you are going to use in the branch logic then you dont need to worry about all the other ones you may have. you can create a copy of your survey and then test the logic via the mock up distribution on the test survey rather than the production version as you can tell, i had the same issue :) thanks Ben

hi @SLEE this is a setting in the 'survey options' in the survey platform. all you need to do is jump into the survey options and un-check the box for 'Show Question Numbers'. then save the options and publish. thanks Ben
i want to get my business onboard with what i want to achieve with Qualtrics being the central enabler to that. being able to listen and learn to people that have likely experience similar challenges that i currently face would help me to formulate a plan that cannot be refused.
hi @swholey interesting.... i am assuming you don't have numerical values on either side of the matrix table? (across the top or down the side) i just had a bit of a go at a work around for this and i cannot find a perfect solution. although i don't know too much about javascript options so there might be something better there. on the matrix table i was able to recode the metric values (e.g. dissatisfied - 1, neutral - 2, satisfied - 3). this then allows you to only require one condition for less than or greater than. this means that you will need one condition for each component of the matrix table. its better than putting in multiple for one line of the matrix table. sorry i couldn't come up with a better solution for you. may be worth having a quick read some previous conversations about javascripting and see if anyone has come up with a better solution thanks Ben
hi @ank below is a link to another discussion on the community from the other day. the context was different, but the functionality is the same. you simply use what is discussed in this thread, but instead of using a question as the conditions the branch abides by you used your selected embedded instead. survey flow utilising branches is the best way to go! i have both options (question and embedded conditions) in place within the one branch and it works perfectly https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/comment/21472#Comment_21472 thanks Ben

hi @LeAnn so, you won't be able to distribute a survey without knowing where to distribute it to. if you dont want to know the email address of the respondent then there is no way around this. a work around option for you though. you can create a custom end of survey message and embed another anonymous survey link into this message. the end of survey message can be create using HTML and uploaded to your library and would replace the generic one at the end of the survey. there is a good discussion about using this exact function (but for a different purpose) below: https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/comment/21520#Comment_21520 you could also use the above to force the customer straight to another survey as well if you didnt want to give them the option your other option is to allow the email address to be recorded and then use actions to trigger additional surveys thanks Ben
hi @jmalone the suggestion above to use branching is a great way to do it. But of course, you don't always know the information you want to see until surveys are implemented and at that point you need to go back and manually update via data & analysis. i have done this and it is painful. another option is to map these using the recode editor in the dashboard settings. you can only do this if the field is set to 'number set' or 'text set'. once you have set the field correctly and chosen the embedded data field you want to use you can then click on the little blue cog and the recode editor will pop up. use more options to set value you want to set these to (<1 years, 1-4 years, etc.). then you simply have to type into the free text fields what you want to convert to these values. this is very painful, especially on a large scale. this will update all existing responses on your dashboard and any going forward. however, this will not recode the values in the embedded data in the d
hi @Zias you can do this where you build the survey itself. Once you have created the question and answers you need you can hover over each of the answer options and there will be a drop down. you can select display logic from there, which is only applicable to that answer rather than the whole question. you can then enter logic to say when each answer displays - hope this helps. thanks!
hi @nicolereed you should be able to do this via an 'if' function in the branch logic and continue adding as many additional 'or' functions as you need. when creating a second line of logic it will default to 'and'. you just need to change this drop down to 'or'. thanks Ben
hi @jdiffee and @aurness i just implemented this exact idea (suggested by @Kate) across multiple brands. to confirm, there is no ethical issue with this outside of your own business. review sites (referring to product review at the moment) ask reviewers if they were offered an incentive to leave a review. this is a widely accepted practice and what is being discussed here is certainly a step down from that. as for implementing this... i added my custom end of survey message into my library with a link out to the review site (embedded in a button to make it pretty). on the survey i then added a 'Branch', which is where you add the logic the custom end of survey message abides by. for instance, the survey would only branch if 'promoter' and if hit certain other question responses i desired. i also used some embedded data to determine which brand page on the review site i wanted these to go to. inside that branch you can then add an 'end of survey' and customize this. i then chose to
