I have a side by side question similar to the below. Respondents aren’t required to answer all questions, but if they give an answer on a row, then there should be an answer somewhere on the previous row i.e. there shouldn’t be any blank rows followed by a row with data in.It’s probably possible with custom validation, but because some of the columns have display logic, it’s set up as 9 columns - so doing the validation means checking for a response in each of the 9 cells in the row.Is there a way to do the validation. i.e.if there are any answers in the second row, then check there are answers in the first row if there are any answers in the third row, then check are answers in the second row etc
I suspect an unusual request, but a respondent needs to allocate 100 points to certain attributes, so I was going to use a constant sum or a matrix constant sum. However, in one version of the question, respondents aren’t allowed to give the same answer more than once ie.they can’t answer 50,50, or,they can’t answer 25,25,50, or,they can’t answer 10,10,10,70 etc.etc. And in another version of the question, they aren’t allowed to give the same answer more than twice i.e.they CAN answer 50,50, or, 25,25,50 etc., but they can’t answer 10,10,10,70 or,they can’t answer 25,25,25,25 etc. Is this possible?
I have a matrix table with 300 columns using the reusable choice list. I’d like to display columns based on an answer to a text entry question earlier in the survey, where the respondent answers with a value between 0 and 300. If the respondent answers say, 10, then I’d only want to show the last 10 columns in the matrix table i.e. hide the first 290 columns.If the respondent answers say, 200, then I’d want to show the last 200 columns in the matrix table i.e. hide the first 100 columns. I appreciate that this is possible with Display Logic, but I assume would be very painful. Thanks
I have a drop-down question where I’m asking “start” Month and Year. I’ll probably use a side-by-side question. I then have a second question where I’m asking “end” Month and Year - again using a side-by-side question. Is it possible to validate that the “end” month-year is not earlier than the “start” month-year?
Is it possible to have a multiple choice type question that has two columns of statement labels - that looks similar to the below?I thought I might be able to do something by using a side-by-side question (see below) but I would like to have Groups of answers - so assume not possible with a side-by-side question?
I have a series of Matrix Likert questions.I’d like the respondent to be able to right-click (or some other way) on any cell in the Matrix Likert question, which would bring up a small dialog box where they could add a comment about that cell.The cell would then change colour to yellow to indicate that it includes a comment.If the respondent clicks on the same cell again, then it would bring up the comment, which they would be able to edit/ clear. If they clear the comment, then the colour would change back to green.The comments would be stored in a hidden Matrix Text Entry question of the same dimensions as the Matrix Likert question.

I have several multiple choice questions on a page. I have them in column layout (3 columns) rather than the default vertical layout. Is there a way to do validation/ stop a respondent progressing if they tick more than say 5 responses across the various multiple choice questions on the page?n.b. there is display logic on each multiple choice question, so if I merged all the multiple choice questions into one question, then I'd need to add display logic on all of the options. Also, there are a lot of options, so I am using the column layout (3 columns) rather than the default vertical layout. I believe you can only use groups with the vertical layout.

Hi,I'd like to change the text at the right hand side (column) of a matrix constant sum question from "Total" to something else. I found the syntax in another thread that changes the bottom total (row) : jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .c1:last").html("New Total Label");... but I couldn't figure out how to change this syntax to change the total column i.e. Statement Total Box, rather than Scale Point Total Box.Thanks!
I'd like to pipe answers from previously answered matrix likert questions e.g. from Question A to Question B. I don't think I can do this with Default Choices, so assume I need to use JavaScript to "tick" the options that were selected at the previous question. What's the best way to do this? I have about 5 questions each with about 8 statements x 100+ scale points.
I'm using JavaScript to hide a question and then click the next button. However, I'm sometimes getting issues on the subsequent screen... with the next button then being clicked on the subsequent screen as well. Is there a way to make Group Titles in a Likert Matrix Table wrap in the same way that the statements do?
I could do with some urgent help....I have a constant sum table (and same issue on a constant sum matrix table).The default choices are 0, but there is a concern is that a respondent might click next without checking their response (i.e. just keeping the 0).So, I thought I could make the default choice blank, so that the respondent would need to enter a 0 (or another value).I didn't seem to be able to make default choices blank on these question types, so I tried some code. Is it possible to add validation to check that one response in a scale is higher or lower than another e.g. whether AAA is more frequent than BBB
Can I use custom validation to somehow check that one scale is the same or higher than the other in a Matrix table with two likert scales. There are 8 responses in each scale.

I'm selecting choices at a Multiple Choice (multi answer) question using JavaScript based on answers to previous Multiple Choice (multi answer) questions, so part of my js includes:var fromQ5 = "${q://QID124/SelectedChoicesRecode}";for (let step = 1; step < 70; step++) { if(fromQ5.includes(step)) this.setChoiceValueByRecodeValue(step, true);}This works well however, if someone has selected, say, choice 56, then the js will also select choices 5 and 6 (as they 56 contains 5 and 6).I thought I could try and embed the step var within text e.g. step + "," - but there is conflicting advice online how do that.But also, I'm worried that won't quite solve the problem, as "56," also contains "6,".
On a side-by-side question there are "Columns" (and within each Columns there are is a column for each answer option).I've managed to hide a whole Column with javascript using:this.getChoiceContainer().querySelectorAll(".SBS2").forEach(item => item.remove());However, I want to be able to hide just one answer option column within the Column.How do I do that?How do I find out how to do that in the future? In my survey, I have overall categories of A,B,C,D,E,F - and I have quotas for each overall category.Each respondent answers the category section 3 times, BUT they are allowed to answer about the same overall category MORE THAN ONCE.e.g. there 3 categories might be A,A,B or C,C,C or A,B,C.If they do answer about a category more than once, then I would want that quota count to increase by the number of times they answered about that category.Is this possible? Perhaps with JavaScript?Many thanks
