Hello @Erikahuer,If the historical surveys share the same questions, I’d suggest combining them all together into a single dataset so you only import responses once instead of 8 times, then import into Qualtrics as a separate dataset from the new survey one, and you can then join them together on the dashboard itself.This would help you to keep historical responses clearly separated from those coming from the new survey (you can create a Live/Historical flag that can be used as filter on the dashboard if needed), yet at the same time enable you to report on trends and aggregated calculations using all the data together.Best,Daniel

Hello @cmagg,I haven’t updated survey response fields myself, however, I don’t think this is possible using the API calls since they aren’t embedded data strictly speaking, which is also the same challenge faced by the OP.I’d suggest you to download the responses you want to edit, delete them from Qualtrics and reupload them edited as needed.Best,Daniel
Hello @holw,The company I’m currently working at has been using Qualtrics for around 5 years. I took the Qualtrics Technology Expert certification a couple of years ago, but never used the platform before until I started working at my current role a year ago.I have experience using other competitor platforms, so my experience using Qualtrics has been an interesting challenge as IT and business acting as a single team have been pushing the limits of the tool on a constant basis to implement workaround for them, as well as for trying to replicate features available in other platform that we definitely need given the complexity of the programs we build.In that sense, we’ve been successful at rolling out big, complex and highly visible programs but not without it’s complications and being forced to develop a deep understanding of where Qualtrics’ limits are. Thanks @Deepak, this worked for me!Only caveat here for those wo want to try something similar is that this use case won’t work if the user remains within the same URL, as it needs to change so that the Qualtrics code can run again and update the cookie that lets the system know the user has already taken the survey within the same session.In other words, if the user remains on the same webpage throughout the whole session, this logic won’t work by itself, you’ll need to include additional conditions for the passive intercept to display, e.g. page visit count > 1 and/or do not display on landing page.
Hi Kaizen_Wizard,I’m afraid it’s not possible to edit/backfill embedded data in a user-friendly and effortless way (I was also as surprised as you are when I discovered this).There are two ways you can get this done, one directly on the Qualtrics Platform and another outside of it:Directly on Qualtrics Platform: Download all the survey responses you want to update and manually Update the embedded data you need. Then Delete those same responses within Qualtrics and Reupload their updated counterparts into Qualtrics. Keep in mind they will be reuploaded with a different response_id and recorded_date. Through the Qualtrics API: There is a specific set of API calls available for this exact purpose. Here is the documentation: https://api.qualtrics.com/2ced5de7dc638-start-an-update-embedded-data-job . What we want to do is get the current date and time so we can categorize the responses per Quarter.Do you know by any chance what would be a field we could pull from a website to achieve the above?
