The client would like to have a unique Project ID number assigned for each submitted project, and would prefer it to be sequential. It could be as simple as assigning 1 to the first submitted project, 2 for the next, 3 for the third, etc. However, recognizing that there will be incomplete responses that are started but never submitted, the client might accept gaps in the project ID numbering scheme, as long as they are still in a relative order (that is, the highest number always represents the most recently submitted project, and each successive lower number is the one previously submitted).I know that you can set a random number as Embedded Data in the Survey Flow, but I can't find any way to set consecutive, increasing numbers for each response. Hello Community!I'm curious if anyone has come up with an alternative to delivering individual response summaries and results for selected questions by email tasks in Workflows.Here's the requirement. I have a series of projects where I need to deliver alerts to others in my organization when a survey is submitted. Some are condition-based (for instance, when the respondent indicates on the survey that a contact person has changed, it triggers a message highlighting the specific change), while others are "always on" (a full response summary is sent). In previous data collection cycles I've used email tasks in Workflows to deliver these alerts. But we've run into two challenges. 1. The volume of emails is more than the recipients prefer to manage. 2. More problematic: emails are not being delivered because my organization's spam protection and the Qualtrics servers do not communicate with each other, and this causes Qualtrics to flag valid email address in my organization as undelivera

Hi Community,Does anyone have experience using both of these features (not necessarily at the same time)? I'm interested to see how they compare in real data collection scenarios. Personally, I've used Anonymize Responses but not the EOS Do Not Record PI. I've looked at the Support pages but it doesn't really compare them side by side. As far as I can tell, the only obvious difference is that Anonymize Responses applies to all collected responses, but EOS Do not Record PI can be applied selectively to responses that go through a certain path in the Survey Flow. Am I missing any other differences or applications? Curious to see how other users have utilized these features.
I have a survey where I'm using Javascript for validation of numeric fields, to run a check that the sum of a series of columns is consistent with the value entered in an earlier field. It creates a fake Next button that appears until the last condition is False, at which point it clicks the real Next button to move to the next page. The survey has this type of Javascript on three different pages. Everything works fine in the heart of the survey, but there's a problem when respondents reach the end. The Response Summary is enabled in the End of Survey element to appear before the respondent submits. When a respondent reaches this point of the survey, it shows THREE Next buttons (only one of which actually works). I wanted to see if this could be caused by the Response Summary, or something else, so I removed the Response Summary option from the survey and filled it out;. Only one Next button appeared on the last page, suggesting an incompatibility between the Javascript I'm using an
I have a page in a survey with four questions. The first three questions apply to all respondents, but the fourth question does not apply to members of specific groups (who are identifiable in the Embedded Data), so I want to hide it from those respondents. The catch is that I'd prefer the fourth question to stay on the same page as the first three, not be on a page by itself. This requires that I use the In-page option in Display Logic, but that only works with questions, not embedded data. I thought I could work around that by piping the Embedded Data to a text question on this page that I used Display Logic to always hide (because I don't want to run the risk of a curious respondent modifying the piped values), but I have learned the hard way that piping only works when the target question is visible. Is there some clever way to make this happen that I'm not seeing?
Hi,I have a survey where nearly every question collects monetary data. I would like to display a dollar sign before the text entry field, and ".00" after each field. I am able to use the following Javascript where I have a single column of text fields.However, I have a couple of questions where there is more than column, and a column in the grid collects numerical but non-monetary data. I also have questions with a single column, with a text entry field on the last line.In these cases the Javascript displays the dollar sign and cents where I don't want them to appear. Is there any way I can adjust the Javascript so the symbols do not appear in the first column?

Has anyone noticed a recent uptick in bounced emails from recipients with Apple domains (icloud.com, mac.com, and me.com)? Over the last month or so, they've gone from being no more numerous than any other domain in my hard bounces to making up at least 90% of them. The diagnostic messages all say "smtp; 550 5.1.1 : user lookup success but no user record found --[code].qemailserver.com". Just curious to know what is happening, and if Qualtrics is aware.
I'm trying to use Actions to automatically update records in my email list with new data based on a survey response. The survey must have the Anonymize Response Survey Termination setting enabled to prevent respondents from being identified with their responses. I've run a test scenario and the process is failing. The Task shows it's completed, but the Add to Contact List part fails. I'm guessing this is because of the Anonymize Response setting, because it doesn't happen in surveys that don't have that setting applied, but I can't find any confirmation that this is expected behavior in the Support pages or Community. Has anyone else run into this before? Is there any sort of workaround?
Disclaimer: I know there's almost nothing that can be done on the Qualtrics user side about the following issue, and that it is isolated and relatively trivial; I'm just curious to learn if other users have had similar reports from their respondents, and if so, how they addressed it.I have a monthly survey panel with nearly 13,000 members. One member of the panel has contacted us several times to report that there is a "typo" in the survey link; specifically that a period in the domain part of the survey URL is missing. It should be "surveys.ada.org" but it comes through to him instead as "surveys.adaorg". He shared a screen shot to confirm the issue. Fortunately the message repeats the full URL below the button, and it is not impacted, so the respondent has been able to access the survey from that.It's almost certainly the case that this is happening after the message leaves the Qualtrics server. Just checking if anyone has tried this before I run it by Support. I'm trying to pipe the organization name that the respondent represents, which is in my contact list, to the header of a survey that uses an Admin theme. I know this can be done in headers that are set in the Look & Feel at the survey level, but I can't see to get it to work when I use the same code in the header of an Admin theme; it just displays the code instead of the value. Are there any Admin users out there who have tried to do this?
I have a study with an unusual combination of requirements I haven't needed to satisfy before, and am trying to determine the best way to approach it.My associates would like to post an anonymous link in an email blast to give the recipients the opportunity to sign up for a monthly survey panel. I used Javascript from this post to create Next and Back buttons at the top of my surveys. It worked without any apparent problems in a test survey I set up. However, when I applied it to the final versions of two different surveys, the buttons do not work on certain pages; clicking it turns the button white, and not action is performed. I can't seem to isolate the problem; there doesn't seem to be any type of item or customization that exists in the pages or blocks where the buttons don't work that doesn't also exist on pages where the buttons do work.Is anyone aware of things that might interfere with the functionality of this Javascript, like other Javascript in a header or question, other content in the Admin theme, Display/Skip Logic, Look & Feel headers, custom validation, etc.?
I have a block in a survey where I use fake next button Javascript to validate numeric entries in different fields before the respondent can move to the next page. (The beginning and end of the code is below.)It's worked fine in all survey cycles to date. For the next survey cycle I'm trying to add a question to the block that is part of the validation but is only displayed under certain conditions. I edited the Javascript to incorporate the validation with the new question before I set up the Display Logic and it worked as expected. But once the Display Logic is added to the new question, the Next button is unresponsive. I have workarounds that I can pursue, so I'm not looking for someone to provide an extensive programming solution. Mainly, since this is the type of thing unlikely to be documented, I'm just looking for confirmation from someone with programming experience whether or not Display Logic and fake next button Javascript are incompatible when the same question is referenc
Just want to see if anyone in the user community has noticed this problem before I run it by Support. I have a Loop & Merge block in my survey, which can repeat up to 25 times. In that block I have a simple text entry field. ! I want Qualtrics to send me an email, using Actions, whenever a comment is entered in this field. I have done preliminary setup and testing to confirm that the Action will execute when I refer to a specific Loop iteration (1:, 2:, 3:, etc.) in the Conditions. However, when use the "Any Loop" condition, the Action fails to execute. ! ! Obviously I could get this to work by repeating the condition 25 times, or perhaps using Triggers instead, but it bothers me that I can't get the "Any Loop" condition to work. Is there something I'm missing or is this condition not working properly within Actions?
I have an annual survey that collects monetary values that go into the millions. I use mostly Matrix Table - Constant Sum questions, along with some regular Constant Sum questions., to capture these data The problem I'm running into is that, since the fields do not accept or display the comma separators, respondents can easily enter an answer that has an extra (or missing) digit without realizing it. I can't set up valid ranges with custom validation for most of these questions because the ranges vary greatly; some respondents could have answers in the thousands while others are in the millions for the same question. Fellow Research Core users, do you have any suggestions to better validate these responses at the point of entry? Thank you in advance.
Before I ask Support to look into this, I thought I'd see if anyone in the user Community has had the following unusual experience. I'm building two similar surveys, and both have pages where there are 9 or so Descriptive Text objects, only one of which applies to any respondent, and one universal question to answer on that page. I'm using Embedded Data in Display Logic to show the Descriptive Text object that applies to each respondent. Although the setup is similar, the respondent experience is inconsistent between the two surveys; in Survey A, the question appears on the same page as the Descriptive Text object, but in Survey B Qualtrics is inserting a page break so the question appears all by itself on the next page. I know there are probably workarounds to get the end result I'm trying to achieve, but I can't figure out why two surveys set up the same way would behave differently.

I have a survey where I need to perform a math operation using the numeric values from questions in two different blocks, in order to determine whether or not to send an email alert. The result of the math operation determines whether or not the respondent meets a threshold, and if not, then the email alert (via an Email Trigger or an Action) is sent to a staff member upon submission of the survey. I'm using Embedded Data in the Survey Flow and "setEmbeddedData" in Javascript to store the value of the operation. It works if the Embedded Data value is assigned in the middle of the survey, but the catch is that I can't put the Embedded Data element by the Blocks where the questions are located in the Survey Flow or at the end of the survey, because then I would lose the Back button at that point in the survey, and backward navigation is a requirement for this survey. I have questions throughout my surveys that require validation of numeric entries. In many questions I can use the validation options built into Qualtrics, but several have more advanced validation: I either need to compare the value of one question against the sum of two or more other questions (or the total of column sums of another question) elsewhere in the survey, or compare a date entered to ensure it is within a valid range (before or after another date entry, or a static date). I was able to use JavaScript for all of this in the previous online survey software I used with IF/ELSE conditional statements and alerts or HTML5 messages so that the survey stops progress and displays an error message if an invalid entry is made. Presumably I can do something similar in Qualtrics with Question JavaScript, but I'm having trouble getting started. I have an institutional research survey with a set of respondent experience requirements that seem to undermine each other, and a solution or workaround has so far has stumped Qualtrics tech support. I thought I'd share it here in case other users have conquered this challenging scenario and can share their solution. I'm trying to get all of the following features to work together in the survey: 1. Use Table of Contents so that respondents can jump back in the survey to check and edit responses before submitting, if necessary. 2. Include a custom End of Survey object in the Survey Flow, in order to use both a custom message on the post-submission screen and make the preferred Response Summary (which is only available in an EOS object) available for respondents to review PRIOR to submitting. 3.
