I started a survey last year not realizing that when you reload a drilldown question with an edited list, it will RECODE all of your values. I have about 60 program specific reports that I am basing off of the value of these codes. Since I plan to use this program monthly for a few years I accepted just updating the filters but unexpectedly I have more changes to the drilldown. To avoid hours of redoing saved filter I am trying to hard code the drill down. I am having decent success but when I click the next button my program name and program number get wiped out of the input. If you can provide any help with how to prevent that from happening I’d appreciate it. Otherwise I have a work around where I save the program number in the Embedded data and base my filters on Embedded data instead of Question data. That is okay but it takes some working and fingers crossing to get this set up BEFORE having data that chose a particular program number - a requirement as I am showing people their

So I asked him if he had any code that will allow the user to change the font size of their text entry and he of course delivered.For those who are interested, this is an accessibility issue brought up to me by a respondent with vision impairment. It was very hard for them to respond to the open ends because they couldn’t see well what they were typing. They ended up copying and pasting things from Word but it was annoying for them. They asked if they could have more control over the font size to ease text entry. Since my survey is actually a form and not a one time thing I wanted a solution and it’s a solution I plan to implement on open ends moving forward (especially when surveying older adults). A
We used to be able to upload .qsf files of surveys on the old Community platform. Is this still an option? I am having a hard time figuring out how I would put this in one of my posts. The paperclip is just for URLs it seems and I’m not able to copy and paste it into the body of my response.If we can’t, is this a product feature we should ask for? I find it helpful to share files with those who are new to learning Qualtrics and the lingo that goes with it. I am trying to send links but I know some concepts took me a while to grasp and I wish I had a concrete example like a QSF file to walk through.

I have a side-by-side with three rows and three columns. Columns 1 and 2 need to collect integers, but column 3 needs to allow numbers (with decimals). I modified a bunch of code I found on here and know which line is helping but also not quite right for my needs. Any help modifying it would be great. I had programmed a test survey for my colleagues with custom code on almost every question. I found some great resources in community that allowed me to sum the rows and columns of side by sides. The problem is that these side by sides only had one answer option in each column. I now need to expand my survey so that I have three side by side columns (SBS1, SBS2, SBS3) with three answer columns in each.I need help knowing how to call the containers and inputs so that I can (1) disable input into SBS1 A1, SBS1 A3, SBS2 A1, SBS2 A3, SBS3 A1, SBS3 A2(2) reference input in cells so I can add the first two answers in a SBS column and display the sum in answer 3 for that SBS column and specific row.(3) calculate the sum for each answer column and display it in the last row.For (1) I found some code but everything that I tried to modify from a "hide" to disable is not working. var qid=this.questionId;$('QR~'+qid+'#1~1~1~TEXT').up('td').childElements().invoke('hide');I've tried changing this to
I am working on updating code I found on community to display the sum of columns and rows in a side by side table any time a value is edited in the table. I know what I have isn't as efficient as it could be and is a bit "brute." But as a non-coder I'm just happy with how far I have gotten. I have a 3x3 table with the last row and last column using JavaScript to display sums. I have gotten all but the second row of the last column to populate the sum (see code below). My error seems to be that I wanted to update the code from `` input:first input:last `` to ``input:second ``but that doesn't work. Hi all. There have been some great resources on this forum for us non-coders to be able to do date math. Thank you!I am working to create a mini-database in Qualtrics. The flow of the form means the last field I enter is a date. However, that field needs used to calculate a time span between it an an earlier entered date.All of the examples I have seen put Javascript on a question on the next page in the Onload function. In my case I don't have a next page and question. Is there somewhere else to put this or a way to force the calculation while on the same page as the question? It doesn't make sense for the data entry clerks to have to navigate through an extra page every time they go to enter a case.
Does anyone know where "survey digests" are coming from. For a number of not great reasons I have hundreds of active survey projects. Just today I got dumped on with Survey digests for some but not all of these projects.Who are these notifications going to?How are they controlled?Where can I find out more about them?Did I miss an announcement or why wasn't it announced? I'm concerned these are also flooding my colleagues inboxes and they will be confused and worried by this.
We are using Qualtrics as an tool to collect applications at my my university. There are several sections of information that need filled out, but we predict some questions will make people stumble, so they might want to bounce around the form. It was my understanding that I could use the Table of Contents feature to achieve this, so I broke down my application into four sections and all of the questions in the section are force response. But when I go to use the menu or Table of Contents button to navigate away from the page that I am on, I get stuck with messages to answer the question. Does anyone have a work around for this? I am hesitant to use request response because we really do need them to fill out all of the fields. !

I am wondering what feature and/or products people are using to report data collected through Qualtrics? One of my colleagues is having trouble with the stability of built in Results (he will make changes and they don't appear to save/show up the next time he logs in) and Reports (the widgets just spin but never populate). So we are brainstorming what kind of workaround to use while simultaneously working with Qualtrics Support to address the problem. So, if you don't mind sharing, I would love to hear what you are using to share your results - formatted views in Qualtics Results, Qualtrics Report, Tableau Integration, pulling the data by hand into Word/PowerPoint, SPSS, etc.
We have a list of 19 factors as to why people choose to attend a graduate school program. We essentially want to do a pick and rank question with these 19 factors but because there are so many and some are wordy that format just doesn't look right for the user. We have split this up into two questions. * Q1: Multiple Select - check all of the factors you considered * Q2: Rank - of the factors you considered (carried forward from Q1) rank anywhere from 2-10 of those factors I am skipping over Q2 if they only select 1 option in the first question. My problem is that I want that option to be ranked as 1 in the data for Q2 without the respondent having to see the question and record the ranking. Is there a way to automate this? I want to avoid the following solutions: * Changing the question type to pick, group, and rank * Filtering the data on the back end and editing Q2 as there is a risk that the analyst will forget to do this step.
Hi everyone. I have a very short 3 question survey. I am distributing by email with the first question embedded as an inline email question. It is the only question on the page (added a page break to the survey editor) between Q1 and Q2. I didn't want respondents to have to click the next button to continue so I tried using Javascript to auto advance to the next page after 1 second. It goes to the next page, however on that screen the Javascript is still trying to advance after 1 second. I don't understand why it is applying here too. The Javascript is only on Q1. A page break separates Q1, then Q2 (display logic applies) and Q3 are on the next page. There is no Javascript on either Q2 or Q3. My survey is published so that shouldn't be a problem. Any ideas are welcome! The script I applied on Q1 is now attached.
I'm trying to disable periods in the name field of a form. I've been googling for some code to update and I'm not having luck with it working. I don't want people to enter periods because it is causing problems later on in my processes. I am trying to reference the text box in QID1, which happens to be the first form field. I have a client that is using Qualtrics as a registration tool. As part of the form they have four text boxes that they want filled out: * Title * Media * Dimensions (height x width x depth) * Price I've gotten validation on Price that I am happy with but could use help with the others: * Title - cannot be na, n/a, NA, N/A, not applicable * Media - cannot be na, n/a, NA, N/A, not applicable or more than 30 characters in length * Dimensions - want to make sure it is [1-99] X [1-99] X [0-99] where it allows decimal places and is checking for three numeric dimensions separated by X or x I know that dimensions might be more easily achieved by breaking it into 3 text boxes. However, I would either have to glue it back together to the format above (which I am blanking on how to do) or make the respondents write it that way. My clients are not computer savvy and cannot handle the three dimensions being in separate columns in the data they view - most are not even comfortable opening an E
Has anyone else had trouble opening attachments to messages sent within Qualtrics Community. I am currently speaking with another member through message so we don't clog up the forum, I can see that they attached files but the system won't let me click on them to open the files. Any tips on getting attachments to be clickable are greatly appreciated!
I am trying to replicate a gallery walk that was done in-person with a constant sum question in Qualtrics. For the gallery walk there were several categories presented and participants had three sticky dots that they placed on the categories to vote for their favorites. I have been able to set up the constant sum question so I have one column where respondents will assign a value of 0-3 to the row. And also have validation on it so that the total must equal 3. But in testing I found that someone can enter 1.5 in two rows and still pass. I would like to force them to use only integers so they can't work the system and vote for more than 3 options. Any advice on how I can add this extra validation? The only allowable answers I want are: * Assign a value of 3 to one row and 0 to the rest * Assign a value of 1 to three rows and 0 to the rest * Assign a value of 1 to a row and 2 to a different row then 0 for the rest Thanks for the help!
